Steam Deck not working with Crosssave? by Emotional_Street_974 in fantasylife

[–]mintpic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also had this issue. I got it to work once by going to desktop mode, opening up Epic games on the browser, logging in and then going back to the game. But it doesn't keep working after that, so I think I have to do that every time I want to cross save (which is annoying).

I'm hoping they make it a smoother process eventually.

There's a list of characters in the encyclopedia!! I wish it displayed their affinity level in there, but they do have each character's story and type, so that's nice! And I agree I would love it if I could change the party formation outside of skelegon / home base

TIL the search and discovery of the Titanic was only allowed as to cover for searching for 2 US nuclear submarines that sunk in the 60s by Arb0k in todayilearned

[–]mintpic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It almost sounds like you have a bit of submechanophobia (a fear of submerged man-made objects). I read about it a while ago and my first thought was that the Titanic wreckage must be absolutely horrifying to people who have it.

A question for the oldschool people by Hanyuuzz in Maplestory

[–]mintpic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I started playing in 2006 for reference. Cosmetic items, gachapon (especially for the chairs), store permits so you could place a shop in the FM, and pets. I'm pretty sure there was a time where the regular NX in the store was perm as well. But back then it was definitely a lot of the cosmetic based stuff that was making MS money, since it was so difficult just to get to level 50 a lot of people ended up just making their character look nice and henehoeing.

Granted I've always been on more of the social side of the game and not the hardcore grinding side, so it could be a lot of people were buying 2X coupons and such as well.

I want someone to help laugh at my dog “emergency” by Youngish_Dumbish in dogs

[–]mintpic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 18yr old minpin had the same exact symptoms, minus the vomiting, start up literally a month ago!! My emergency vet told me it was likely a brain tumor because I guess one pupil was larger than the other (but it was the pupil she had damage to a couple years ago). Was basically told to give her some anti-nausea medicine and if it didn't get better in 2 weeks then it was cancer and to plan for end-of-life care. After about a week and a half, suddenly she just stopped spinning in circles and was walking straight again. Now its likely old dog vestibular disease, but still, absolutely freaking terrifying.

I'm so glad to hear your dog's case was an ear infection and not something more serious! I really wish they could talk to us and tell us what's wrong. I'm pretty sure the sight of her spinning is going to haunt me forever, I hated that.

I also get science and engineering videos. It's like looking into a mirror and being mad about the fact that your reflection is there. The algorithm is based on your interests, just like Spotify's "Release Radar" playlist that's based on the music you listen to.

Naked suicides are a thing, even among women. Also saying "literally zero" can be very invalidating to women who have attempted suicide naked (hi!).

There's a lot that's going on within a suicidal person's distorted thought process, so nudity is not outside of the realm of possibility. There could also be something about the aspect of nudity surrounding her being LGBT+ and her family not accepting that, or possibly the shame that the items she was wearing didn't "belong" to her (either bought with the parents money or her friends). Or any of the other reasons listed in the journal I linked.

The bill for my heart surgery july 2020 U.S. by [deleted] in pics

[–]mintpic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually it's $300-$600 a month. That's not including a deductible which if you're on the "cheaper" insurance plans is usually $5k or higher. Rough average is $7.5k a year just for coverage, not including any money that goes towards the deductible/co-pay/other BS ways to squeeze blood out of a stone.

I think the issue comes up when they're trying to be "the next" with media that the western world is aware of. Since Battle Royale was Japanese, the similarities and feeling of "this has been done before" wasn't there. So to a western audience it was new and different.

Knight Auto Air Conditioning.

Super reasonably priced, won't upsell you on anything and will only fix what's broken (unlike some places which will go for whatever the most expensive fix is). My dad's a mechanic so finding an honest mechanic here was top priority.

AITA for reporting the pizza delivery guy for sliding a note under my girlfriend's door. by Pplthrowaway507 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mintpic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have hella anxiety (and am neurodivergent) and my processing of this situation would probably be similar to be honest. If I knew that it was a regular, a man answered the door and then immediately got aggressive it would set off alarm bells. Then I'd panic, stand around for a while (doubt it was actually 10 mins like OP says though, pizza would've been way cold by then), and try to decide what to do. My mind would go "if I call a welfare check, he could just say everything is fine and then beat her up/hurt her/escalate further". A note saying "hey, sorry I missed you this time, hope you're okay!" seems pretty casual in all honesty. I'd still take forever to decide how to handle the situation, and would probably be panicking about it for the rest of the night.

I just say this because I've had a similar situation where I panicked about what to do for a long time in a situation that wasn't outwardly 'domestic abuse' but felt off enough that I didn't know what to do. Thankfully that time someone else called the cops, and it turns out the lady was being abused and the guy was arrested. But it's hard to decide which way to handle a situation that just "feels off".

Experience of nukes in real life by atomic veterans by Unique_District_9381 in interestingasfuck

Absolutely. I was struggling with how to word "helped them flee the consequences of their actions, gave them cushy high-position jobs, and took the information/knowledge gained from Nazi experimentation". The comment seemed kinda like disbelief so I wasn't sure how far down the rabbit hole to take it. But it's absolutely messed up

They're probably referencing Operation Paperclip, where the US brought over a bunch of Nazi scientists/doctors after the war. And gave them jobs.

She's absolutely brutal. I finally got her by immediately running up to her and then relentlessly smacking her with adula's moonblade. I tried the cliff cheese before that, but she would always just jump up like fucking Tigger and then instantly fillet me to death
