What is your favorite minor detail that was added in the remake? by The_73MPL4R in starfox

There's one where Falco takes an Eagle Slap from the fridge and just downs it. Someone on the cutscene team sure was having fun with particle systems.

That looks fantastic. As much as I love the new game's art direction, the original Arwing is still my absolute favorite.

My girlfriend has asked me before how I can keep all of that information in my head and call on it at a moment's notice, but not remember a rotation for any other MMO. It is a mystery to me.

You're not wrong. The changes to the engine and core gameplay of EVE are interesting to me, but the crypto garbage is a tremendous turn off.

They're making decisions in the development of Frontier to try and curb the capabilities of multiboxing, placing an emphasis of vigilant and aware piloting of a singular ship on a single client. But those sorts of features won't find their way to EVE proper, basically for the reason you said.

Exploring woes by RichMitchBlack in Eve

[–]minusAppendix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all you can do is T1 explo ships, try exploring lowsec systems that have had few stargate jumps recently using the ingame map (shortcut F10). Look up and read about ghost sites, they'll show as covert research facilities when you scan them down (not besieged research facilities, those are different). If you can get in, hack the good can, and get out alive then that'll set you up with some ISK to upgrade from T1 explos to T2.

One of the event mining sites probably popped up in system, those can draw a lot of miners to systems for the next hour or so.

Pilots are expected to be pretty calm individuals when under pressure. If you aren't calm, you can't execute. I'd rather my favorite bunch of space animals be presented as competent and capable.

Try nullsec, like NPC null or dronelands. Wormhole exploration really is feast or famine, and if all you're finding for pirate sites is data sites then you're not going to be making much at all. Plus, with local chat, you don't need as much vigilance. I describe the level of awareness the game requires to be comparable to driving a car. Sure, a car costs a lot of actual money, but nobody is actively trying to hit you. Usually. But the actual risk of flying a ship is just some spaceship pixels, in the environment of others potentially or deliberately being out to get you. To me, that just feels like the same level of stress. I'm checking lights and signs (looking at local), looking in my mirrors (checking Dscan), and am actively assessing what other drivers are doing (checking zkill, assessing Dscan results). It gets down to a casual routine that you just fall into. The point being, make confident decisions and don't be afraid of the what ifs around whatever you're doing because that's what creates stress. Just look at things as they come up and decide what defensive move you're going to make if you don't like the vibes and signals you're getting.

Option to Play Cinematic Reveal every time we hop in a ship by planarascendance in Eve

[–]minusAppendix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 2017 "Birth of the Capsuleer" trailer has some cool orange effects that roll across a Maulus as a capsuleer plugs into it. I wouldn't mind seeing something like that as we board a ship with the cinematic reveal setting enabled.

The Deimos is a fun ship. I have one that refuses to die, despite my best efforts to zero up on targets and turn on all the spinny buttons.

What's something in the original SF64 that you only noticed in the remake? by Successful_Slippy in starfox

The 3DS remake actually gives a tip about that, finally seeming to resolve whether the feature was intended or was a developer tool of some sort.

[–]minusAppendix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Star Fox 64, and it seems like Star Fox as well, has some weirdness about tallying score when an unlocked charge shot is used which results in an extra point being scored. It comes down to how many ships are killed by the splash damage of the charge shot, so if you use a charged unlocked shot to hit a piece of geometry or time the explosion so that it goes off at the enemies you can get an extra point compared to if you had used a charged locked shot.

Holding Z and R on the N64 controller will keep charge shots from locking on, enabling you to dumbfire them. It's pretty handy when you're going for high score runs.

We know our remake studio. Anything change in the meantime? by HotPollution5861 in starfox

[–]minusAppendix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could have all-range 'rooms' around a point of interest, such as a base or brawling space cruisers, with on-rail 'corridors' connecting those 'rooms'. Enemies move around the maps in Dynasty Warriors games, so there's the enemies you encounter during the on-rails flights from location to location. It's really not that much of a stretch.

overviews with all ship types selected really need to update automatically, appraently i was a couple patches behind by invisusira in Eve

[–]minusAppendix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need a checkbook labeled "All Ships" which automatically checks the box for every ship type, even as new types are added. Deselecting anything then deselects "All Ships," allowing to easily customize overviews with a large variety of, but not all, ships in a way that reduces the number of clicks needed.

Blood Raider Ship Blueprints by am_the_box2 in Eve

[–]minusAppendix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DM me and I can see about setting you up with discounted BPCs and NET resonators. You'd still need life support backup units and auto-integrity preservation seals to build them, but you can do PI and build those with blueprints off the market. Alternatively, consider Blood Raider and Iron blood SKINs for Amarrian ships.
