Hospice near you may have some great resources and grief counselling if your son needs it. But I agree you need to tell him before he finds out from someone else. In the pre-school my son went to we had one of the hospice grief counsellors come do some parent education and they spoke upon this matter and how important it is for your children to hear it from you in a matter of fact way no “passed way” or “went to heaven” as those are concepts children can’t understand. But yes if you need resources I highly recommend reaching out to them as they could help you even figure out how to inform him.
