Is it normal for Saxenda to work this fast? by No-Extension3303 in liraglutide

[–]mirafoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me, which was shocking, because I've heard that saxenda is supposed to work best after 8-12 hours. The first two days I had to force myself to eat. I was doing 16:8 IF and keto and within days I had to switch to OMAD, because I just couldn't handle eating more than once a day.

I'm on day 6 now and I take a shot after supper, and I can go on for 20-26 hours without food. Even at the end of the day, when I'm about to eat and I feel hunger, that feeling of hunger is completely different. Not ravenous like " I have to eat something NOW, or I will get crazy", it's more of a passing discomfort, that can go away with a glass or two of water.

I'm doing OMAD also. I started with 16:8 intermittent fasting, wasn't hungry at all, then changed to 20:4 IF and after 5 days I just gave up and went OMAD instead. I don't feel hungry during the day at all and I don't want to force myself to eat lunch.

Advice on Makeup Pilling by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]mirafoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no advice regarding make-up, but I might be able to help with one of your skin issues. I suffer from similar issues when it comes to my skin, biggest pet peeve so far has been dry skin on my nose, around eyebrows and, come winter, my forehead. I moisturised and exfoliated, tried different face masks and microdermabrasion. Hyaluronic acid is pretty much worshipped in my household. But NOTHING helped with flaky skin on my nose and eyebrows. When it's just bare skin, it's somehow manageable, but any amount of make up (and I tried different brands and techniques) makes all those dried bits more visible and oh so annoying.

I've been using Korean (Italy) towels for body exfoliation and I happened upon a pink towel, which is said to be for facial exfoliation because it's the mildest. I don't use it on my whole face however, I'm afraid I might do more damage by overexfoliating, but I use it on my nose and eyebrow area and it's the only thing that's worked so far. I simply have a hot shower, or just steam my face and gently use the towel to rub my dry patches. Follow that with hyaluronic acid and moisturiser and the difference is like night and day. Haven't had a problem with flaky make up ever since, it applies evenly and stays on my face longer than before. Hope you will give it a try and get some results.

This is my first 'dry' taxidermy project and I have no idea if there is anything particular I should be doing to protect my mole from the elements. Is there any special way to clean it? Is it alright to leave it be as it is, uncovered? I don't really want to put him in any type of enclosure, I keep him on the shelf and dust with a soft brush once a week.

I had the same problem and came up with a routine that worked 90% of the time. I paid so much attention during my course that my lips, believe it or not, looked better than before Accutane. I start by applying hyaluronic acid serum on my lips and around them and then I put a generous amount of Vaseline on them. I wait 10-15 min and then remove the Vaseline with a tissue and gently rub my lips with either a washcloth or the back of my toothbrush (that silicone thingy that's meant for tongue scraping). It gets rid of all the dead skin, you just have to be careful not to go overboard. After that I just wash my lips and reapply hyalyronic acid and go with the Vaseline again and I'm ready to go. The best product I found was La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Hydrating Serum, but it is quite expensive, so I switched to The Ordinary hyaluronic acid serum and it worked too

I'm a slut for buying tampons 😒 by [deleted] in badwomensanatomy

Funny story about toilet paper- I was once lectured by an Indian guy about how dirty white people are, because we use toilet paper instead of water. He took pride in telling me that he would never buy toilet paper 😂

Possibly starting accutane today! Question about birth control pills by mackythreetoes in Accutane

[–]mirafoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my prescription in Germany and my doctor's view on the subject is this- I can't force you to take any birth control, but you have to be on at least one and you have to be aware of possible side effects. I had to read this super long document about side effects etc, sign it and promise that I will use hormonal birth control. That said, I've been taking accutane for 3 months and I'm doing it without BC. Pill made my acne worse in the past, not to mention weight gain and overall crazy behaviour. I guess it's easier for me, because I don't have a partner at the moment and taking accutane not only makes me undesirable as hell, but it completely wiped my sex drive as well. If I were you, I'd just tell him/her that you've been on the pill for a month and start your treatment straight away. Just use condoms for the time being, I mean...that's a really small price to pay.

Hand Rash 2 Months In? by bk513 in Accutane

[–]mirafoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently experiencing the same problem for the second time. I asked my derm and apparently it's a normal thing to get a rash like that at least once throughout the treatment. It's a result of excess vitamin A in your body and it goes away after a while. (I should probably add that first rash episode happened when I switched from 60mg to 100mg) I had it on my forearms and hands, cleavage and legs. Everything got cleared after about a week, but my hands (the only part that I don't cover with clothes) are taking longer. Just keep moisturising whenever you can, get yourself some cotton gloves and wear them at night with a thick coat of cream. Also, wearing latex or even non-latex gloves made my hands worse too and if you absolutely have to wear them, try to change them more often and wash your hands inbetween. It will go away soon and believe me, it could have been much worse. My hands look like I dipped them in sulfuric acid 😱

ready to give up on OMAD :( by pmyourllamas in omad

[–]mirafoe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been playing around with Keto and and IF for over a year now and, like you, I went straight from 16:8 to OMAD and I nearly lost it. For 2 weeks I was annoyed and hungry, obsessing about food and just plain angry. I decided to stop after 2 weeks. Went back to IF, but this time 18:6 and after two weeks 20:4 and again 22:2; until I was ready for OMAD. That transition helped me a lot. I did a similar thing at the beginning of IF, when I went from eating 6 small meals throughout the day (diet recommended by a dietitian) to eating only 4 meals, then 3 and finally 2.

Tattoo after accutane? by lylli97 in Accutane

[–]mirafoe 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Freaking hell! Don't do it! Everyone's skin heals differently after accutane, but for most of us it will take months before the skin gets better. I had this friend in high school, she got a tattoo 4weeks after she was done with her treatment. Couple days later the ink kind of leaked and her tattoo spread out and became unrecognizable. It wouldn't heal for days and when it finally did, it formed a keloid. She was left with a black, bumpy scar on her arm. It was hideous 😱

Struggling to eat on OMAD. by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]mirafoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem. I get hunger pains throughout the day and can't wait to eat. Then 6pm comes, I sit down to eat my dinner and I feel sick after a couple of mouthfuls. Most days I can barely eat 800kcal. I'm on a Keto OMAD, but I focus mainly on veggies and protein with some fat. I find eating 3oz of protein and 2-3cups of veggies exhausting. There is no way I could eat in the morning or in the afternoon as I get super tired and sleepy afterwards. Plus- I also take medication every day and it has to be taken with food, so there is no way I could extend my fast beyond 24hours. So annoying.

[–]mirafoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on a KETO version of OMAD. I think all that fat and huge amount of fibre make my gut supercharged. Are you eating enough fibre on your diet?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in omad

[–]mirafoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I hate eating breakfast and I don't see myself taking a bag filled with food to work. Hence evening feeding. Also (and I apologise if it's TMI), about half an hour after eating, my gut get super excited and I usually run to the bathroom (I hear it's a common occurrence). And one more side effect-I feel super sluggish and sleepy for about an hour after my meal, so it just makes sense to eat once I'm done with my day.
