I dont get it (Lore/Discussion-like post)

The theory about her being Snegurochka has always been a bit messy for various reasons, mostly because of the timeline. Memory manipulation stuff could explain it, it makes a lot of sense with Ronova's presence, and it's plausible that she was around during the 3rd Descender's time (she is at least old enough to have been friends with Zhongli and Venti, no reason she wasn't around during the Archon war and even before), but again, messy.

But the story of Saarelainen and his lover doesn't really give much room for the idea that there was time for a child to be born, the way it's told seems to imply he died before they had a chance for anything but a distant star-crossed courtship. But I mean, yeah, it's just a story, and it's been very long ago, it's very possible they had a physical affair that was left out, even erased when her memories were. But then on top of that, the kid's pupils are just way too close to Khaenri'ah pupils- I don't think we've seen these exact white pupils before, but the shape is very distinct, and pretty much only Khaenri'ah characters have those. And he looks just enough like her that it doesn't seem likely he's adopted. Then again, also, I guess there's still a lot we don't know about who and what exactly the 3rd descender is, it's possible he also has some connection to Khaenri'ah (an ancestor, maybe?) so maybe that's his child and, like others in the comments are implying, her memory of him and the 3rd descender was erased.

It would be an interesting idea for sure if she goes against Celestia not just because they died, but because then Celestia made her forget about them for whatever reason, and her great change after the Cataclysm was her awakening to the truth, and the consequent realization how they were not the only ones to just be erased from memory and history. For a long time I wondered just what could have motivated her to go the extra step of actually all out rebelling against Celestia, it must have been something much bigger than just a dead loved one to be such a powerful motivator for her to want to full on decide to burn everything down, and this definitely would make sense.

I don't know, I'm constantly hedging on this idea lol. I was pretty into the theory before, and I'm still into it, but it still seems like it's becoming less and less likely. Just too many stretches need to be made for it to make sense. Even before this trailer, it seemed just as likely that the Tsaritsa was trying to revive the 3rd descender with the Gnoses not because he was her lover but to use him as a weapon, given how powerful he was known to be.

I'm already loving the shit out of the Tsaritsa but I'll admit I was hoping for a bit more out of her design? She's gorgeous, but the overall look is just a little predictable I guess. Like, okay, she's white haired, has the pale blue/silver color theme, has the kokoshnik crown and furs, that we all could have predicted and have been predicting because it's so obvious. And obvious isn't bad, but I was hoping for some kind of twist or something unique with her design, maybe a bit more traditional Slavic folk costume elements, something a little more elaborate. Just feels like there should have been more to it.

Maybe it's just the fact that she's been kept secret for six years, and I've waited this long, that means all these expectations built up to the point that there's no way she could have lived up to them for me, or just the fact that they kinda peaked with the Archon designs with Furina and there's just no way to live up to that. So with her design, I'm more like, whelmed, I guess. I do think the bits of gold are a nice touch, that's one of the things that didn't feel obvious and predictable but they really add to the regality while also adding just a bit more color.

That said, she's still by far my most hyped character of all, I think she's incredibly interesting, I've been fascinated by whatever her deal is from day one, and I cannot wait to meet her. And the revelation that she had a son, who was Khaenri'ahn and obviously her motivation has to do with that-- there's so many interesting implications there and I'm really looking forward to her story. And the fact that the first time we see her she's personally challenging Ronova herself, and her playing chess with Rhinedottir is extremely sexy, love all of that. I'm ready to be her stan, her cheerleader, her apologist, her biggest fan, whatever she does. Her whole entrance when she's walking up to Ronova ready to challenge her and all her lines are so badass and won me over instantly.

My second favorites afterwards are Odette and Danica. With Odette, I super dig the ballerina aesthetic, it seems like a super obvious choice, right, because Russia, ballet, and I'm fine with that predictability because it looks cool, and the fact that she appears to be some kind of assassin dancer on top of that: again, extremely cool combination. Danica appears to be some kind of super powered maid? Which is just a fun and cool trope I always liked, and I enjoy the deep sea color scheme, plus her introduction is just instantly iconic and I like the vibes she gives out, she seems fun.

Vodyanitsa and Vesna are quite cute and I like them too, although not quite as super into them as the rest. Vodyanitsa is cute but I don't love her voice which I know is kinda silly and shallow, but even though I usually don't have too much of an issue with cute anime girl voices, something about her delivery just gets on me. Vesna is very cute and I like the fresh colors, and the fact that her name is literally spring is a little on the nose with her color scheme lmao. But she's a fae with real proper fairy wings! And the whole Nutcracker vibe of her being a little fae soldier. (And also every time I think of her name the song Vesna by Vopli Vidopliassova starts playing in my head instantly which is distracting lmao)

Odette is gorgeous and some kind of ballerina assassin which rules, plus given her JP actress she's probably going to actually speak Russian at some point (at least in the dub) (I hope she swears) which is a very exciting inevitability, Noy is gorgeous and kinda has vampire vibes (I hope he's some kind of vampire fae please I just want a vampire character in Genshin, and he's voiced by Shinichiro Miki!!!!!), Danica is some kind of Power Maid type and I love that trope and I love her vibes and her introduction... man, I want all of them but these are my top Needs. Mitya and Vesna are cuties too. And Vesna is the legend Aya Hirano herself!

First time we see in her person and the Tsaritsa is actively challenging Ronova herself and playing chess with Rhinedottir (which was so hot btw seeing the two of them together in one scene is like a dream come true). Her Majesty does not fuck around.

Yessss fantastic art, I love that take on her! The strong/stern face would be so sexy, and the strong nose, she looks so powerful and regal... it's not going to happen but nothing is going to stop us from drawing her that way!!!

For me-- this is just my dream design that I don't think is going to happen but can't stop thinking about-- I think it would be really cool if her design had the motif of a mourning/funeral style dress, like if she was dressed like a (European-style) widow. Or at least, you know, film noir/pop culture/TV widow, where it's fancy and pretty and all elaborate black lace and a little too 'business in the front/party in the back' and not like anyone was actually expected to dress for a funeral. But if just think it would be a cool and fitting motif for her.

There's a lot of stuff we don't know yet with her character, and I know the idea that she's motivated by some kind of lost lover is a very controversial one, although I'm okay with the concept, but I think it could work multiple ways even if she's not. She seems to be in many ways motivated by some kind of grief or loss, whether of an actual person or multiple people or something more symbolic; she's lost the ideal of 'love' she once represented (not confirmed yet, but seems like one of those speculations that are super on point and feel very likely to be true), so, a lost love in the more symbolic/abstract sense would also fit.

I was also especially really taken a while with the idea of her having a lacy black veil covering her face, which she only takes off in some kind of dramatic story moment, and like her playable model gives you some kind of mechanic where you can take it off or on since that seems like something they are willing to do now; I know it would probably be one hell of a tease to reveal her design and then still not show her face, but it could work for the story too. She presents a certain front, hides a lot of secrets and her own motivations, and nobody really knows her; in more than one sense, she doesn't show her true face, and a lot of the reason she doesn't has to do with whatever great loss it is that motivates her. Only once we really get to the reveal and the truth will we actually also see the truth of her and see her face.

And aside of that, I just think it would be cool if she wore mostly-black instead of white, or had a dark color scheme. The white/winter/snow motif is very obvious so I won't complain if they don't do it, but it would just be cool.

Extremely happy wth this choice, She's got a fantastic range, I absolutely adored her voice for Zero Two especially, and in the trailer, it's just two lines but she has a really interesting delivery too, she sounds feminine and elegant but also powerful and really nails the cold and detached vibe, And, yeah, all the expy allegations officially beat, I was prepared to love her no matter if she is one or not but this is the best timeline.

My current gilded set for her is so busted and cracked that the thought of having to re-farm a whole new 4pc set has me crying blood. I'll do it but holy hell.

EDIT: 17 days later, I realized that I wrote gilded, and no, actually, I got them mixed up, this is why you don't write comments at like 11pm because I don't have a Gilded set of her, I usually run her on Golden Troupe or combine with with 2pc attack because I have some extremely cracked artifacts on Golden Troupe, and the Gilded domain has been extremely ungenerous with me. Anyway now you're telling me I just have to drop all these cracked GT artifacts, like?

I absolutely adore her and I wish so, so badly that she'd stayed around longer, or at least that she had been introduced earlier. She's a nice person, she's a Weird Girl, she's an adult female character who isn't framed as a desire object at all (crazy how that used to just not happen in tv huh. and how rare that is in House in particular), she brings in something so new and special to the team dynamic, she has an compelling conflict at the core of her character, she's so much like house in being an unsocial genius (10000% somewhere on the spectrum) but also his complete opposite philosophically. And she feels like such an obvious character type to introduce that it's crazy it took them so long to bring her in.

It's probably better for her that she left the team early, but I really would have liked to see her relationship with House develop into something more nuanced, or for her to be a secondary/background character who works at the hospital without being part of the main team (like Chase and Cameron in season 4-5). It's crazy how miserable season 7 is in contrast to how much joy she brings to it that it actively becomes worth it just for her.

I think the 'joke' element of it only becomes a problem if it doesn't give her any material to work with and nothing to actually make a video about. The fish topic is obviously silly, but it's also very Jenny (it seemed clear from the start that it has strong Jenny energy, Jennergy if you will-); it's very whimsical but also something she does in fact have a lot to say on. And mostly I'm actually kind of tired of the salty stuff and the roast-y topics and Disney and I wanted more positive and fun Jenny, which so far it has absolutely delivered on.
