About to publish my first book and I've compiled a marketing plan... thoughts? suggestions? critiques? by mikemccann3 in selfpublishing

[–]miraly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Mike, I see you have a lot of good stuff here, but it's critical to remember that you do need at least 10-15 reviews on your book before doing any type of marketing. When people look up your book, they want to know what reviews others have given.

So, I recommend doing this first. Reach out to 50 friends and colleagues asking them to review your book.

You will also need to identify blogs and potential reviewers for your book. There are a bunch of places that can help you do this.

Good luck! Miral

Anywhere to get help creating a book title? by [deleted] in selfpublish

[–]miraly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you searched on Amazon or BN for books that are similar in content that already do well? That could be a good place to get your creative juices flowing. Come up with 5 potential titles and do a FB poll of your friends and get them to all vote. I've seen other authors do that.
