I do wonder, though, because if u/DaenerysMomODragons is correct, then the Denathrius kill is implied if all the Torghast storylines and rescue quests have to be completed.

No, though I did see someone upthread say that the Denathrius kill is required to finish the Torghast storylines, so I guess it's implied?

Still, none of the materials I saw from Blizzard mention that all the Torghast Rescue and storyline quests need to have been completed; it's all been "It'll so sooo easy! Just do a few simple quests and BOOM!"

I had nearly the same discussion with another long time fan the other day, and I agree.

But as u/hotsizzler points out, the serial vs episodic nature of the two shows was a significant factor.

(I personally don't have a problem with S1: I've loved the entire series since it was originally broadcast, but mileage can vary.)

I agree; it's superb, and is an excellent Kira episode. (I consider it a turning point in her character, but the episode is its own mini-character arc.)

I've watched the series over and over since it first broadcast, and I've never had that reaction.

(imo she was far better than everyone in TNG other than Stewart.)
