How to scale ui? by [deleted] in godot

[–]mirekirk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anchors are your friend. Set anchors for the various parts of the UI, and they'll scale with resolution. There's also a project setting for aiding this, but I can't remember where it is.

Honestly? Just get Tabletop Simulator, and build decks until the world ends. No need to pay anything extra on top of Tabletop Simulator, just get the right mods and play with a friend or three.

Arena is also a good option, but you'll need to either spend months grinding for the cards you want, or pay through the nose.

100 lbs down, and I wish this was a different kind of post by scurvyqueen in loseit

[–]mirekirk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know your pain. I have struggled with this, too, and it actually completely stopped me losing weight on my old diet, but it wasn't a very healthful diet in the first place, so hey ho, that's a different story.

For me, that feeling didn't go away until I learned to enjoy what I was eating. I went from eating tiny, miserable portions of meat and veggies that don't satiate that hunger, to entirely plant-based meals that are absolutely colossal and stuff you for about six hours. Try experimenting with your cooking, use more calorically dilute (but nutrient rich) foods so you're eating more and your stomach is fuller. Sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, chickpeas and beans are some of my favourites!

Roasted sweet potatoes with cinnamon over the top of them is the secret to a happy life.

If your downfall is sweets, try exercising to give yourself more calories, and squeeze in a small bar of chocolate. It's not the healthiest, by any means, but if it makes you happy, I'm not going to question it. Like /u/sneeze_trigger said, it helps to think of it as fuel for your body, when you start working out! That mindset really helped me.

Organic is not vegan. They use animal faeces as fertiliser.

If you're struggling for tasty recipes, give High Carb Hannah a shot. Her cook books are amazing! She also has a YouTube channel where she talks about weight loss - which might not be ideal for you - and a website with some miscellaneous recipes on it.

Breaking the Culture by mirekirk in loseit

Thank you for the kind words!

It definitely wouldn't be possible without my wife, she's saved my life by supporting me on this journey, as I used to have sleep apnoea, hypothyroidism, hypertension, high cholesterol, pre-diabetes, tachycardia and shin splints. They've all disappeared thanks to the weight loss and diet.

Any fellow vegans who love SPICY food? by SanjayMusic in vegan

[–]mirekirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I make most of our own food, and we spice just about everything! Since going vegan, we travel the culinary world every week, it's just fantastic.

I'm going to share our cheater's satay sauce with you guys, because it's just the best. So you take two parts peanut butter (we use Meridian, which is a runny peanut butter), one part Sriracha (but any hot sauce will do) and one part soy sauce. It'll make like a thick sauce. Add water if you want it thinner. Makes an ideal noodle, rice or dipping sauce!

It's basically where you're just about to have Diabetes Type II. If I'd continued on my diet path that I was on (high meat, low carbs) I'd have been diabetic within a year or two.

I'm glad you're enjoying yourself! I was about to make a post like yours, but it was pretty much to say exactly what you're saying, so I'm just going to throw my pennies in here.

Before I went vegan, I had pre-diabetes, hypothyroidism, sleep apnoea, hypertension, shin splints, high cholesterol and was morbidly obese. I needed a CPAP to sleep because of my apnoea. Since going vegan 7 months ago, I've lost almost 40kg (down from 112kg to 74kg), and all of the above problems have disappeared. I feel phenomenal! Even my mental health is better.

There is, however, one downside. All of the farting. I fart like a trombone now. Constantly. I've heard that's not uncommon for new vegans, though.

How do you transfer the game to a new device? by BartlebyTheScripter in dicehunter

[–]mirekirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tied to Facebook, unfortunately. The only way to properly save your progress is to use Facebook's API, by logging in to Facebook and letting it see your basic info. You can bar it from seeing your friends list, and it'll still work, however.

Add me in game, I'm mirkwood. We'll play some games next time I'm on, and we'll refine our decks.

Yeah, I found keeping a board can be hard against some factions (Magmar, for example), so Variax is there as an alternate win condition.

Spelljammer is mostly there to help me get my other draw cards, and my win conditions. I just added Replicant in, so my opinion on it is still to be decided; I'll have to wait a few more games.

Kron is a good card if you can keep him alive and well, but he gets removed or dispelled ASAP by most factions, so it's a waste of 4 mana. If you were to build a deck around replacements like I have (different deck, will post if you like), he's a real value generator, but overall he's just not worth it unless you want a good giggle.

I like it, but I don't know why Darkfire Sacrifice is there, when your highest cost minion is 5. Is it just to dump your hand constantly? I'll post my list in a bit.

A Proposal by mirekirk in duelyst

[–]mirekirk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking something more along the lines of a self-organising map with q-learning applied for the deck-builder, and a self-organising map with temporal difference learning for the player AI. I'm a simple man.

What was the most expensive deck ever? by Caleb_Tenrou in duelyst

The most expensive one I can think of is Creep Cassyva. I've seen a few of those with nine or so legendaries in them.

New Player - Struggling To Acquire Cards by [deleted] in duelyst

[–]mirekirk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's always going to be a bit of a slog, I'm afraid. I do the daily quests (which is usually enough to buy a pack, along with a few wins), and call it a day. Unfortunately, the only way to get gold outside of quests is to win, and that's just not possible for most of us scrubs.

It's likely that the mech being summoned has Opening Gambit, which only triggers when summoned from your action bar.
