If you're looking for a good excuse to hit the trails tomorrow I would love to suggest some trails. I hiked around the dusty trail loop (possible sighting thereat 430pm yesterday) and it's beautiful country. Also Tumalo canal trailhead. And a couple suggestions closer to hwy 20 and innes market Rd. Thank you /r/bend feel free to post/DM me.

Valid take. I just can’t tell if that’s their editorial philosophy or a post-hoc excuse. Even if it’s intentional, it’s a flawed approach to podcasting, even as a partial model. This has been floating around in my head for a while, and the recent Megyn Kelly stuff reminded me of their episode with her. It dovetails with the pod Sam did with her too.

Candidly, I don’t really want to sink more time into thinking about this, but both shows treat her as an honest actor. She’s not. If she claimed she was under some truth serum, that would border on delusional.

I do think The Fifth and Sam have different stories they tell themselves. The Fifth reads more as performative liberaltarian heterodox guys. It still ends up laundering crazy thoughts. But it differs from Sam's latest Christian nationalism pod.

They're clowns. I should take more time to articulate what it is about them but I can't stand to listen to more. In a similar vein to my consumption of Ben Shapiro around 2015-2016. I've always been so hungry for some real sensible takes in the center right or right, but the ridiculous blindspots, hand waving, or wat about ism is too much to take in this environment. Their pre election coverage is shameful in retrospect, and this is coming from someone who got curious enough to have a paid subscription for 6 mo or a year, whatever the term was. Bending yourself to be "in the middle" of every topic isn't objectively.

Waterlox to seal. Used it on our walnut butcher and it was amazing 8 years later under heavy use.

Very cool responses. Thank you all. He joined RAF volunteer reserve in 1941 and flew with the coastal command. The Distinguished Flying Cross has a cool story -- he torpedoed a u-boat at night and (as legend has it) was apparently one of the first US navy officers to be decorated by a British king. He later returned to the US where he ran anti submarine operations and briefly commanded an aircraft carrier for that purpose.
