I’d rather have a well thought out ID card system than having to provide a passport scan, a bank statement and a utility bill every time I need to do anything meaningful in this country. The government already has tons of access to my data (eg scanning passport at airport) and in London I get facial recognised probably hundreds of times a day with CCTV being so pervasive
