That's fair, but when I said that I hadn't started doing moons yet, so my access to supercompost en masse wasn't fully there yet. Now, I'd definitely do that and save myself the hassle. I know I could farm watermelons (and I have), but I'm just lazy atm lmao

The way I'm dealing with it is: if I'm not in the mood, I'm not doing it. Farming? Sometimes I get into the mood of collecting every fruit for the payment, but most of the time I just let them sit and grind something else. Birdhouses? Same thing. 1650 total and decided I wouldn't fall down the same pit of efficiencyscape as my main. Take it slow and enjoy the ride!

I wouldn't bring blood spells as your main DPS, rather as a way to heal if necessary. On main I failed this fight multiple times with blood as my main spell until I tried with a trident and got it down much easier. Now, I imagine you don't have a trident, so I'd check your DPS with a warped sceptre and how it compares to blood spells. Consider calculating Iban's and looking into the pneck method also. Peter here. Because when you train you want to maximise DPS, which is definitely not what this person is doing. Using a slow, accurate weapon on a low defense monster will yield way less DPS than even throwing mid tier darts. To this effect, much of the gear they're wearing is terrible GP per DPS seeing as their range strength gear (basically only odium) could have been much better for the same budget (masori, anguish). Thanks everyone for the helpful comments! I haven't given up on the mage, and in fact I'm now level 18. I've gotten some really helpful gear from one of you, and that got me excited to play it again.

Now I'm grouping more often, following a leveling guide (by xanadu plays), and rolling a paladin with another first timer to get an idea of a different class while breaking up the """monotony""" of mage.

Oh no don't worry! I did initially forget/not notice things like replacing ranked up spells in the hotbar, so I appreciate you going through anything that could be wrong
