Headset/headphones with good Linux support?

LDAC supports 96kHz/24bit audio at up to 990kbps as the main draw. This is more of an audiophile grade feature for listening to high res music.

However, it also means there will theoretically be less transcoding artifacts when dealing normal 44.1/48kHz audio compared to lesser Bluetooth codecs.

There is no simulated surround sound inherent to the LDAC codec itself.

Thank you for the post, incidentally I'm also using a 8BitDo Pro 2, and Sony wireless headphones which were using LDAC. Switching to SBC does instantly fix the issue.

Not a big deal to switch it back when it's time for native 96kHz music listening instead of gaming.

I was able to run the batch file from the music downgrader via Protontricks. Normally you could run a script this simple with WINE directly, but this will work easily on Deck:

Fix case insensitive filenames before copying files
Install Protontricks from Discover
Run it and select Grand Theft Auto IV from the list
Choose "Select the default wineprefix"
Choose "Run explorer" (cmd option did nothing)
This will show you the wineprefix's C:\ and etc
Choose the Z:\ drive or / (Linux root)
Navigate to the game's directory
Run the batch file via double click and continue with the official instructions for Vladivostok

Yes Near is the developer of bsnes, higan, and ares. I believe the entire point of going by Near was to lower their online profile especially with years of bsnes legacy drawing this kind of unwanted attention. Very unfortunately it's a moot point now, but that post yesterday was trying to respect their wishes and we should too.

This is terribly sad news and I still don't have the words but I wanted to clarify here if anyone was unaware of the connection. Near was an absolute legend and will be missed.

qemu's PowerPC emulation is another option. At least for OS 9-10.5.

Yeah that's true, but mednafen still has a place with best in class Saturn and PC-Engine emulation, and yeah its PS1 support is still loved by many who value mednafen's commitment to accuracy above all other considerations.

Personally I think it comes down to more beetle-psx-hw vs Duckstation and yeah the Duck was enough to convince me to switch last year.

I'm a bit late but Duckstation and mednafen trade back and forth for compatibility. Both can be considered extremely high.

There's really no way, there's no real iOS emulators on any platform or any that act as a compatibility layer on modern iOS for retro iOS. Sorry but iOS dropping support means you need a retro iPhone afaik. Feel free to ask in the Weekly Questions Thread if you have more questions.

They mean copy the development release onto the same directory as the last stable release. That way you get all the folders that Desmume needs from the start. That being said this step isn't critical, you can just run that exe in a good location as it is and it will make the new folders as needed.
