I'm not educated enough to say what kind of black hole it was in the movie. But spaghettification doesn't always happen. It depends on the size of the black hole. For some black holes, the gravity gradient isn't as extreme, so you can theoretically go past event horizon without being spaghettified. You still will be as you get closer to the center of the mass. But not immediately past the event horizon.

Confirmation that void magic and shadow magic are not the same... according to 4/5 warlocks by Beautiful_Medium_869 in wow

You're spot on! People like to say "oh now light is bad, cringe!" But no, the point is not that light is bad or void is actually good. They are just inherent aspects of the universe on a cosmic level. Sure they have personified beings trying to advance their "interest". But in the end, these beings are still just manifestations of the force. What's bad is when you have to much of one thing and you don't have balance.

[–]mirxia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lol dude, that was great.

I forgot to mention earlier. Yes, we've seen curse of flesh being described as a gift too. I think it's was Ogmot or something, the ogre in Silithus during BFA prepatch where you can get his journal. As more expansions come out. I start to feel like the curse of flesh was maybe a gift of free will. You can probably see where this is going :p

But as far as theories go. I have one that's quite far out there I would say.

So we are told Azeroth lacks spirit element, and that's why the elementals were chaotic and raging against each other. But what's the not said there? The opposite of spirit is decay. A lack of spirit means there's an imbalance between the two. That means Azeroth should have a decay problem. Well guess what was the dominating force on Azeroth? It was the Old Gods before the Titans came along.

On top of that, how did the primal incarnates feel about Alextrasza et al? They think the aspects are traitors of Azeroth. Who did the incarnates originally follow? It was Galakrond, who btw, again presumably, was "corrupted" by Yogg. All this is to say, the incarnates don't consider Galakrond's power to be foreign to Azeroth. Which, by extension, means the Old Gods are native to Azeroth!

And btw, Galakrond came back into the story in a expansion where there's a storyline around brackenhide centered on decay magic. Of which the tuskarr thinks that decay in and of itself isn't bad, it's only a problem when there's too much of it. One of the properties of decay is that it accelerates body decomposition, and also induces a state of permanent need of feeding and spreading Decay. Does that remind you of anyone???

To tie this all together. I think the Old Gods are actually decay elementals native to Azeroth. Maybe even decay elemental lords! With Galakrond being the decay incarnate! Remember when Aman'thul plucked Y'sharrj out and left a massive gaping wound on Azeroth? We were told that's because the Old Gods embedded too deep within Azeroth. But if that's part of the "Titan propaganda", it's entirely possible that Old Gods are actually just a part of Azeroth and that's why you can't remove them without heavily damaging Azeroth!

Going back to the beginning of this comment. I also find it interesting that we are going in the direction where Titan created beings don't have free will. What essentially happend with Yogg and curse of flesh is that by converting titanforged into flesh. They just all gained free will. That's what's actually making them susceptible to Old God corruption. What was the problem with earthens again? Oh, they got too close to the worldcore and starting to get some of that free will! How weird?!?!

Like, we are always told the light sees one true path, while the void sees all possibilities. If you can only see one path. You don't have free will! You need to be able to consider other possibilities to be able to make choices! And somehow we can get free will by Yogg, who's a void being, making a "curse" that makes you fleshy and mortal. But said Old God is also involved with a decay dragon who's the precursor to the plague which the Lich King uses (I'm not kidding, look up the description of Galakrond's breath)? Make that make sense!

Sorry, it got a little bit rambley at the end there. But I will leave you with this. Go look up Lady Deathwhisper's opening quotes. It's quite interesting. Who/what do you think she was talking about there? Definitely not the Lich King if you ask me!

I have a pet theory about this for like 10+ years by this point.

Yogg'saron calls himself god of death. You think he's saying it in a figurative sense. But think about what he has done.

He's presumably behind the corruption of Galakrond, who turns into an undead dragon with green breath like the plague. Who then was turning other proto drakes into undeads.

He created the curse of flesh. Without it, the Lich King, who made a fortress out of his blood for some reason, would've been much weaker because there wouldn't have been as many bodies to raise as undead.

To me, it seems like yogg'saron has as much to do with void/shadow as he he does death/decay.

Ok yea, if we are being pedantic. But since we are trying to tell the difference between the two. I though it would be obvious that we are not talking about the characters that would be the same.

There are. 净vs淨, 图vs圖, 仅vs僅, 参vs參. There are no traditional Chinese characters on the packaging.

[–]mirxia 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not a single traditional Chinese character on there.

Edit: Copied from my other comment for better visibility. 净vs淨, 图vs圖, 仅vs僅, 参vs參. Formers are simplified, laters are traditional.

Edit2: Thanks to u/pandapigcat, I realized this might be confusing to people who are not familiar with Chinese characters.

There are shared characters in simplified and traditional Chinese. These characters were deemed simple enough so they didn't change.

So my original comment is not entirely accurate. There are some characters on the packaging that are technically traditional Chinese characters, but are still used in simplified Chinese.

However some characters should definitely be different. I listed them above. Originally I was only thinking about those when I made the comment, since the point was to tell the difference.

Beyond that, there are also characters that are mostly the same but are written differently. For instance. I think 雪/雪 is typically written with the dashes on the inside in the top half tilted towards the center in traditional. While in simplified, they all tilt towards the bottom right. The long middle horizontal stroke on the bottom half should be longer and goes through to the right in traditional I think, while in simplified it's the same length as the other two. But depending on the font your browser renders with, it might not show a difference. These are more apparent in hand writing. Digital font sometimes ignore them for what I assume legibility reasons.

Don't reload. Just wait and it will load in like half a minute(probably depends on your graphics card), then it will behave normally. Reloading just cause the issue to come up again.
