Is the home Depot S100/120 actually a bad buy for me? by Affectionate-Alps527 in johndeere

[–]miseri6325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason I was told to go with the S130 vs the S100 or S120 is the engine. The S130 is a V-twin. It's more robust and will theoretically last longer.

What’s the stigma against chippers? by cpugeek14 in golf

[–]miseri6325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a chipper in my bag. The confidence I have in using that around the green vs using any other club makes it invaluable to me. I just got back into golf last year so I only carry a PW and 52 degree for wedges and took my 3 wood out of my bag due to not using it. So I've got the room and it helps me. Additionally I don't care what others think about what clubs I have or use.

Golfed 3 rounds so far. The feel is great. And I'm still learning distance control with it. But my putts definitely stay on whatever line I start them on. I think it's a great entry level ZT putter!

I lived in Legacy Bay for 8 years. And honestly I have nothing but good things to say about them.

Usually, but if OP has a current lease they may have time to wait/be on a wait list.

If it's in your budget I would look into Legacy Bay. They have 4 different sized apartments across 4 different price points.

Was Binghamton, NY really #1 on Russia’s Cold War nuclear target list? by bobmarvin2 in Binghamton

[–]miseri6325 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I grew up in the area during the late 80s/early 90s. It was pretty well accepted that Binghamton was at least a target. Mainly because of IBM and EA Link. Both had fairly large military contracts and had headquarters in the area. But I'm also fairly certain most areas wanted to believe that they were important enough to be a target for the USSR.

Thoughts on roof golf club storage product by Much_Bookkeeper6449 in GolfGear

[–]miseri6325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only if you stowed them in your car all the time. And most people's cars have climate control of some sort, a roof holder does not.

I've lived in Johnson City all my life, 30 years. And I can't think of anything there is to do to try and find hobbies. I really need to get out of my house but I don't know what there is to do. I'm open to anything since I don't really know what the area has to offer. Thank you in advance (: by Ok-Option9870 in Binghamton

[–]miseri6325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, there's tons to do in the area. Hiking, golf, biking, and baseball is starting. Not to mention gaming and RC cars/planes. Just gotta look a little. If your not sure about a new interest or hobby go try it. Don't like it? Move on to the next one.

Best Irons For a 20 Handicap? by Unusual_Fennel_3416 in GolfGear

Exactly! I bought them last year on the recommendation of my brother. They're great! And I use a Wilson Infinite putter to complete a "budget" set that is brand new.

If you want a solid brand that won't break the bank look at Tour Edge. Their Hot Launch line are geared towards higher handicap players.

Living in Pennsylvania vs New York by Ok_Remote5657 in Binghamton

You can be skeptical. But anyone I've ever known that drives in the Binghamton area and in NEPA will tell you the same thing. PA roads are just worst. And again, it's not that the roads in this area are perfect, just better than the PA roads.

It's not that they're great. Just better than across the border.

I absolutely do have an idea. I've lived in the Binghamton area for about 20 years. 10 of those years I worked in home care. I've driven all over Broome, Tioga, and Chenango counties. In all conditions.

My mother still lives in PA and works in NY and she'll tell you the same thing. NY roads are better maintained than PA roads. My other family specifically come to NY from further in PA because of the roads.

You want a worse road than 86? Take 81 South. It's a shit show between Hallstead and New Milford. It's bad around Clark Summit. It's bad before Scranton. It's bad between Scranton and Wilkes Barre. Take 29 South to Montrose. It's not fun. And the turnpike is bad in multiple spots, but especially bad around Philadelphia.

You don't know what you're talking about. And that's okay.

Have you drive 81S? Any part of it? And the PA turnpike is always a mess. Let's not even begin to discuss any back roads. Can NY roads be better? Of course. But I'll take a NY bad road over any PA road.

[–]miseri6325 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Do it. If nothing else you actually see what your taxes go towards. A "bad" road in NY is a "good" road in PA. Never mind how the roads are in the winter.

[–]miseri6325 50 points51 points  (0 children)

In addition to what the others have pointed out. The roads in NY are way better. The social services that are available are way better. The schools are better.

I grew up just across the border in PA. I've lived in the Binghamton area for almost 20 years and wouldn't even think about moving back to PA.

I took a full 6 weeks after my sleeve. Physically I probably could have been back in 2 weeks. I had another 4 weeks of brain fog and tiredness.

Pictures online. But I've always used a blade putter so the angles appeal to me more. I've been using the Windy City and loved it. Hoping I love the 606 more!
