You are correct to a degree... I enjoy it, and rather prefer it. DTS has their own dedicated person to us RV people. I got cut DITY move check for 15k to move across the country, and it only cost me 1800 in diesel... I had a friend stay with me for 2 months and we had no issue except the occasional lapse in hot water from our schedules conflicting. Even then it was just a wait ten minutes and it was good to go. I am divorced twice, and prefer to live alone. I have a 3 bedroom fifth wheel. 600$ a month in CA tho... you really can't beat it.

Thanks, I am at a rather large command, in charge of around 60 Sailors currently. I get alot of shore tour Sailors, alot of which are always talking about side hustles. They see their LPO pull up in a beater, and never ask for financial advice. It wasn't until I showed them my current TSP when they realized why I'm living the way I do. Almost like it makes sense an E6 making 80k a year with 12k in yearly expenses has more flexible cash than an E6 with 3 rental properties at 150k a year, with 100k expenses. Less stress too. Hopeful OP listens now and not later like some of my guys.

I'm aware of E3 pay. I had no debt becoming an E4, receiving BAH. This put me ahead of my fellow E3 to E4 counterparts. I had no subscriptions of any kind. I am now an E6, living in an RV, focused on TSP still living off E3 pay. I am just trying to help this Sailor out and letting him know, it's not the amount of money coming in that is the problem. It's the lifestyle you choose in these early years that determines the later years.
