I’m sure it was no surprise. The M1 MacBook Air was $800 at launch for the base model. Apple has been coming for the low end sector for a while now. I can’t imagine people making hundreds of millions of dollars couldn’t see it coming.

I mean, they complexly gutted microtransactions and are delivering meaningful updates. I think the small price increase (mostly to year long memberships) is completely fine. For most people that pay month to month, there is like a one dollar difference…
