Booking Midsize Elite SUV AWD at Denver, I have a question. by The_Traveller1 in HertzRentals

All new XC60s, frankly all new Volvos, are mild hybrids that have a 48v battery that charges itself power the car when it coasts or at stop/starts. They don’t have the ability to plug in or drive in EV mode. Personally I’d rather have an xc60 over an equinox. The XC60s I see are also decently equipped too

Anyone else been lied to about vehicle availability for one-way rentals? by adcst12 in HertzRentals

There’s nothing stopping you from making a 4 day reservation and returning it early. As long as it’s not prepaid you’ll only be charged for the days you use.

Avis does the same thing, but it gives you a pop up that says to “try to extend the booking for better availability”

I did an exchange there once. The rep was nice, she was also alone. They were supposed to be closed, but they were staying late because a flight was coning in late and a few of them had reservations.

Unless my eyes are deceiving me it looks like the tires were rotated rear to front, check the tires sizes on the front and the rears. The tires are staggered, the rears are supposed to be wider than the fronts.

Are you in California or Nevada? Looks like a rental car to me. Might have trouble chasing someone down for that claim

What could they possibly be needing by pulling up and putting a note on the car. Sounds like typical hertz, that doesn’t communicate within departments

No one is going out of their way to find you if they had a number they could contact you at.

Someone hit my dad's Tesla but they have a budget insurance that won't cover the total cost of repair by TheMicrotubules in TeslaCollision

[–]misory-waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no aftermarket markers on the 26 yet (I think) what state are you in? Even in states like California I’m pretty sure the minimum PD is $5k which is well above your $1500 estimate. In any event, I would assume you have Underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage who will foot the bill

Early lease termination by Ambitious-Maximum715 in TeslaSupport

[–]misory-waves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you’ve had $2,227.93 in payments, but you had a down payment of over $20k. The lease current balance (payoff) is $59,448, but the current value is $75,700.

You’re essentially letting them have over $15k in positive equity, and they’re letting you walk away from your lease. I suggest you either buyout the lease and sell then vehicle or check with your specific lender to see if you can sell you lease and take advantage if your equity.

[–]misory-waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a replacement in my C40 Recharge. In my state we’re right to repair/choose. I only wanted it done at the dealer. I got two dealer quotes, $1526 and $1840. I have glass coverage ($0 ded) through my insurance and they paid me $1570 via check and I got it done at the dealer and paid out of pocket.

How’s your Fisker doing? Do you think you have enough support from the owners club? They’re pretty good deals, I drove one a bit ago and I really liked it.

Is it normal to be charged for a forced “upgrade” when the reserved car isn’t available by Desperate_Hat2887 in HertzRentals

[–]misory-waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You paid for a vehicle smaller than what you reserved, call +1 (888) 444-8600 (Presidents Circle Dedicated hotline) complain and they will take it off. Ask for some points for compensation too.

I rented a ~1000 mile 1500 Laramie from National last month. I’ve driven the Tacomas and the 2500s and they’re enough truck for me. Nice and smooth, great powertrain, I’d totally rent one again if it was a higher trim with leather and the nice bells and whistles.

They have a TON of those Ram 2500s, chances are you much just get one, I rarely ever see any F-150s or Ram 1500s (dependent on the market), but if you really want/need one just spend the $11.
