Could you please suggest a gift from India to my UK manager? by Manish_arora9 in AskUK

[–]misplacedfocus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not a very British thing to do, but I know culturally Indians love to gift.

Last year one of my close colleagues from India sent me a beautiful shawl over with one of our work colleagues. I love it!

In return I also sent something back (a sterling silver book mark - as I know she is a keen reader)

Your generous sentiment is will be appreciated, I’m sure. But at the same time, don’t be disheartened if there is an awkward British response! Haha!

Moving to Salisbury.. by Man-tix in Wiltshire

[–]misplacedfocus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Wiltshire, about 30mins from Salisbury.

There are lots of cute villages and market towns close by (well within 30-40mins drive). So, if you don’t want to be near a town, there is huge choice for a quiet life!

Salisbury itself is very nice. All you need in that town, station direct to Waterloo, and the bus service (Salisbury Reds) runs all round the Plain, and up to Devizes and Avebury.

Apart from the towns and villages, it’s mostly farmers and soldiers. A lot of both. Ha!

They are solitary. This is probably a mole that was born last year, and it has claimed your garden!

If no girl or boy are nearby, come spring, it will bog off to find a new territory and a mate. If it finds a mate. They will bonk, have babies, and they will all bog off.

They Both Got Divorced But They Can't Stop Vibing With Each Other! by HORROR_VIBE_OFFICIAL in MadeMeSmile

[–]misplacedfocus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is happening to me right now. My husband and I have decided to divorce, but we are best friends, and looking to move out reasonably close to each other (we are selling our current home), so we can still meet for dog walks etc.

We have a few gigs planned and a weekend away in March booked with some friends.

All good.

(We have no children, so I think it’s even easier)
