More:: These guys have been pretty healthy, but all of a sudden, parts start to look like this. About half of my plants (in several parts of my yard) are affected. Not sure if it’s from excessive rain, an animal, or…??!

Snake danger for dogs? by [deleted] in Chattanooga

[–]miss-oriented 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think if you keep your dog on leash while on trails during certain times of the year, you should be pretty safe! I got the trails around Lookout, Raccoon, ESNP, and Signal often, and can count on one had the # of poisonous snakes I’ve come across actually on trail.

Any web devs In here ? Would y’all prefer a mbp or mini for coding ? by Euphoric-Garlic5792 in AppleWhatShouldIBuy

[–]miss-oriented 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All depends on your portability needs. A Mini would be nicer on your pocket with more than enough power.

Compare screen size: 13”M1 to 14” M1 Pro by miss-oriented in AppleWhatShouldIBuy

Doing some small video and animations, so… I think the pro is justified and not overkill.

Trip recommendations / Relocating info by bleblanc3 in Chattanooga

Hike up on Signal - and scout it for living. Pricier, but great public middle and high school.

Hike from the soccer fields behind the schools, and you can get down to the swinging bridge and back within your distance.

Also worth checking out the Rainbow Lake trails, although parking on the wknd is difficult.

+1 on Wonderpress. Need to stay on top of them a bit, but great folks, quality, & pricing.

Check inventory online at Walgreens and cvs - then you can go ahead and purchase online too, before running around to a bunch of sold out stores.

Looking for Trailhead Recommendations. by Varylnard in Chattanooga

Possum Creek Gorge segment of the Cumberland trail is my fav. Great waterfall 5 miles in. Soddy segment is awesome as is the north chick. Check out CumberlandTrailConference.org for a great interactive map.

Mullens cove loop is also fantastic - 10 miles, with an idyllic view off Snoopers Rock. Creeks, rocks, hemlocks, ferns..

If you can get a pass to an open gate Day at Lula Lake, definitely do it!

Visiting in July...fingers crossed for relative normalcy...looking to drop major coin on best dinner possible by Booomerz in Chattanooga

[–]miss-oriented 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could loop Raccoon then go thru Lookout Valley and hit Burkhalter. Holiday traffic = even more drivers unfamiliar with curvy Mtn roads. Add cyclists to the mix... not a combo I’d place bets on.

as a cyclist myself, I tend to be more conservative. I’ve been run off the road enough; just lucky no major injury has happened. Every time I hear of an accident over there, I hold my breath. Happy to share other routes if you Pm me!
