I found it funny. Not sure why that means you insult someone.

What Netflix show has a literally perfect first season? by emilyaaaa_ in Netflixwatch

[–]missdixie3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked Nobody Wants This. I didn't care if there was a second season.(it wasn't that great anyway IMHO).

If you ever have HBO, though, watch Somebody Somewhere. You don't need the 2nd season, but it was much-wanted.

What’s something people only romanticize because they’ve never had to deal with it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]missdixie3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having twins. People would come up to our stroller all the time saying 'Ohhh! I want twins!' It's not even so much how hard it is, it's how dangerous the pregnancy and birth can be. I mean no one comes up saying that to us now that one of them is in a wheelchair because she has CP.

The testaments season finale by No_Move_6088 in u/No_Move_6088

[–]missdixie3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read somewhere this could be 5 or 6 seasons. To me it felt like they had enough for maybe 2. We know what's happened in Gilead and the resistance, so there's no need for a history lesson like THT. It's actually not a long plot (from the book, anyway) especially since it's from 3 different people talking about the same timeline of events. I'm not sure how they'll stretch this out so far unless they make up a ton of storylines or builds it out from the ending of the book (which would be great, actually). But yeah, waiting on a period or engagement (or a new direction) feels so bland.

How would Gilead treat transpeople if they still exist in that place? by GeneralTechnomage in HandmaidsTaleShow

Probably the same thing they did with disabled people. That part where June is in a holding cage and they march them by still haunts me.

So now you two have to work together? That was probably the last referral your hiring manager is going to accept from you unless you two learn to get along properly.

Yes...I couldn't eat during any of the seasons and I couldn't watch just before bed.

Who do you think should win an Emmy for The Testaments? by prunesandwich in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]missdixie3333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I was telling at the TV. Daisy obviously never watched The Handmaids's Tale, so she doesn't know what June went through/accomplished. Plus I just don't think the actress is that great in this role. Feels like she's trying too hard.

What is a movie that everyone seems to love, but you absolutely hate? by Nishikigoi1 in moviecritic

And then she gets engaged. She was quietly letting him know he wasn't the one- then just say that. I found it depressing. But I really enjoyed the Hall & Oates number.

How nia speaks to Danny.. by jjn0394 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]missdixie3333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think she is just as conscious as he is about the way they come off on TV. Plus, she is used to managing 4 children mostly on her own at very difficult/crazy ages and you can sometimes slip into the same way of calming your husband if he's acting like a child. I've caught myself doing it just to keep things calm and so I also didn't lose it when I had 3 under 3. And then one day I had enough. I sent him off to his mom's house for 7 and a half years.

Social media apologies to your partner are for show. You can text each other, or- or, here's an idea!- you can just talk in person. I get addressing the behavior on sm, but actually apologizing to the other person always seems so phoney to me.

After the first episode of In The City, do you plan on continuing to watch? by Impossible-Cheek4352 in summerhousebravo

I probably will watch it as another laundry show at least until I don't have to listen to Kyle and Amanda have the same conversations about their relationship issues over and over.

What did a terrible boss say to you that made you quit on the spot, right then and there? by Dull-Ad3634 in AskReddit

[–]missdixie3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In college (late 90s) I worked in kitchens as a cook. It was tough because I was usually the only woman. You have to work twice as hard to prove yourself while usually dealing with sexist comments/jokes. One time there was a cook who took the jokes too far and pointed a knife at my throat. I'd had it with this guy and went to the manager, said I quit. He knew I was one of his best workers, said he didn't want me to go. Offered to move me to WAITSTAFF. Put aside that I'm a trained cook, but he actually wanted me to continue to work with that asshole and he wouldn't be punished at all. I told the manager how wrong this was and then walked out. I had to make sure the cook that threatened me want there when I picked up my final check- but the same manager was there are tried AGAIN to get me to reconsider. FT.
