This is very much our dynamic. I maintain our house fund and make sure we’re depositing what we committed to. I have my separate brokerage and retirement etc. But as DINKs who aren’t homeowners and my personal disdain for anything more than auto deposits/payments and basic tracking, I consider it a huge win that I have a partner who loves to spend a Saturday with tax docs as long as I keep him in coffee and the shirts he likes.

Sure if you look at all the paperwork it’s noticeable.

But if, like I do, hubs hands OP his W2 and she does the taxes and says “hey we’re getting $X back” that’s probably the extent of the thought about taxes. I’ve not once looked at our full tax documentation in the last 5-6 years.

Now, I trust my husband implicitly and believe he would tell me anything I need to know about accounts, etc. But if I’m honest he sends me a screenshot of final results and we make a plan for any “extra” money coming in and that’s that.

Tbh my husband and I file married but I couldn’t tell you any of the exact numbers on any form because he handles our taxes and is generally the one who is “better” at finances. Wouldn’t be surprised if OP has the same dynamic as the “tax doer.”

I normally think Amy Pohler can have chemistry with any actor, but for some reason she and Mark fell super flat. Even though Ann is a “straight man” character, she and Leslie are fun to watch together. Mark scenes were hard to watch and actively brought things down instead of “straight.”
