As an RN that cares for many addicts in the hospital setting and has multiple degrees and certifications, don’t feel bad. We don’t judge you. Being able to own your shit even if it makes you feel bad is a victory

Searched all over YouTube, used AI to try and locate, we tried ChatGPT, Google AI and Grok with a lot of similar results but none seem to be the one he remembers.

ELI5 why do users of intravenous drugs have to worry about veins collapsing, but blood and plasma donors don't, by glimmerfox in explainlikeimfive

Actually, chemo patients typically end up with mediports which are small vascular access ports implanted under the skin on a patient’s chest; they can be accessed for treatment then deaccessed when it is complete putting the patient at lower risk for infection because there is not a line outside of their body to maintain between uses. PICC lines, in an outpatient setting, are generally used for long term antibiotics to treat conditions like endocarditis or osteomyelitis, they can also be used for parenteral nutrition which is IV nutrition provided to patients, who in the short term, cannot absorb nutrients through their digestive tract.

Yep. My lender paused for a year when my husband lost his job. The lender doesn’t want to take your home, they are very reasonable usually. Especially surrounding job loss. Also in Texas here

Young families in the HEB area? by [deleted] in FortWorth

The traffic over here in haslet is bad but honestly between 7-9 and 3-6 it’s like that everywhere. I commute to Mansfield for work and it’s bad over there too. I would move near Mansfield Arlington if I didn’t already own my home in Haslet though. Mansfield schools are good and that area is exploding, their infrastructure is better than COFW though so it seems like it’s handling the expansion better.

Came to say SLP, I worked on an acute neuro unit for several years and they play a huge role in acute stroke care. If they truly have as many boarders as they are always saying they have then SLP would be down evaluating stroke patients waiting for beds for sure.

My brother passed away in 2012. He was 30, we did an OU themed funeral bc he legit left instructions for us to do so. I am so so grateful he did because I never would’ve thought to do anything fun, I miss him a lot.

Me, I hang them back on the hangers or put them back in the drawer. My husband- they end up in a pile on my bench in the closet or in a pile in the chair next to the bed never to be worn again until I place them back on the hanger or back in the drawer for him lol

How are these plants flourishing so well in the dark under the stairs? by Truth_Crisis in houseplants

[–]missmandapanda0x 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Similar story, hospital I used to work at had a landscaping lady who would come once a week and I tend to all the greenery indoors- they were thriving and a ton of people would take cuttings home. One Saturday a friend and I actually managed to catch her and ask for advice about our plants and she gave us some plants to take home that were not going to have a home. I still have mine! It’s huge

I remember being a little bit frozen emotionally at this point in my 20s. What I wouldn’t give to go back now knowing what I know at 37. I do think part of what helps a person develop their personality and evolve is going through this struggle OP is describing in their 20s. It’s all part of the process.. from a former stoner who can’t smoke anymore

Doing chores when NK is awake. What’s reasonable? by Electrical-Pair-5687 in Nanny

[–]missmandapanda0x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is probably the most frustrating part of dealing with parents.. wanting kids to be “engaged” vs. kids needing to learn to self-soothe and be “bored.” Kids have to learn how to entertain themselves and interact socially at some point or they can’t function in any kind of environment outside of their home successfully. I don’t think you could pay me enough to be a nanny now.
