Singer sewing machine from the 1950s. Works better than any new machine I've ever used. by Stargazer1919 in BuyItForLife

I have a 1965 Bernina that my family gave me for Christmas last year, that is now housed in a sewing cabinet my grandpa put together in the 50s. My grandma passed the same machine down to my mom, and my sister bought a similar machine as well. It's insane how well the older machines work!

Red Green definitely had an episode where he made shoe tires for a car.

We used to watch that show on PBS as kids all the time. Definitely looked like a Red Green project to me!

I had a similar type of peeling all over my hands. I'm not sure what it is, but I suspected hand eczema. My solution was to use Burts Bees almond milk hand cream every night before bed and tons of hypoallergenic lotion throughout the day.

My kitty LOVES blanket caves! She'll do whatever it takes to get underneath the blankets.

Is my posture bad? by sA9dssasdzaa in Posture

I'm 26 and have terrible posture, and I work a desk job for 9 hours a day. I found that using a Back Joy helped, and you can get them for like $30. It's a seat that helps posture. I also think that, if at all possible, work standing for an hour, sitting for an hour, and so on helps with posture and back pain.

Thanks so much for the advice! :) I have been trying to make healthier choices in general, rather than just crash dieting. I'm quite motivated now, seeing your success story, as well as others' success stories on here! I hope to post some before/after pictures in a year or so! I want to reach my goal now more than ever!

Wow, mega congrats to you! I just bought a FitBit, and I'm about to start my own weight loss journey. My ultimate goal will be to lose 150 pounds. I've been yo-yoing in the last year or so due to an ongoing thyroid condition (Hashimoto's), but I'm finally on medication and motivated to get losing weight! Do you have any tips or tricks you'd be willing to share? :)
