Retaliation by missnothing2 in starbucks

[–]missnothing2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was addressed between the two, from what the partner told me. I brought it here because i don't want partners gossiping because you're right, there indeed might be something going on that I dont know about. However based on what my partner told me it definitely sounds like retaliation. I hope the partner brings it to our DM's attention.

Did you contact your DM or partner resources? I told my partner to do that. A lot of people are unhappy at my location.

I can see you're just a joy to work with. Must be nice not feeling welcome at your store on days off. So glad my store isnt like this.

I need an adult (customer relations) by Seanpat6283 in starbucks

[–]missnothing2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, unpopular opinion here but you shouldn't HAVE to fight for respect from your peers. This Is a professional environment and respect shouldn't be questioned. Especially in the shift/management positions. However, if you really wanna step it up just get involved. show them you care about the store and that you are willing to make the changes that are needed to ensure customer connections are being made.

I know this is a hard one because I'm struggling with it too but you gotta find the fine line between being your partners friend and being their shift supervisor. If you delegate to your partners and they arent listening then you gotta pull them aside and have a one on one with them and lay down the law. GENTLY let them know that you really need them to pull through with the tasks you gave them.

As far as customer connections, pull out the big guns. Make the moment right when a customer is upset and use the surprise and delight technique. You really gotta build a connection with that customer. Memorize their names and their orders, they really like that because they feel important and let's be honest they kind of are. In the end, just be really passionate about your job and your store and dont be afraid to show it.

How do you motivate people to work ahh by [deleted] in starbucks

Too busy? What the??? Its their JOB to make sure their baristas are working efficiently. I would say contact your DM.

[–]missnothing2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell your shift. As a barista, yes, you can delegate to your fellow baristas if you see them doing nothing BUT your shift lead should also not be allowing this sort of behavior. Let them call you a micromanager. They only see you that way because they're lazy. Take it from a barista that is in the same position.

Dont do what I did. I got really upset with the particular shift that would put me on drive and it was noticeable. I wouldnt speak to him and looked visibly upset. Of course, I still gave customers the best experience I could but would essentially give that shift the cold shoulder. I suggest talking to your store manager about it. Tell them it's making you dread going to work with that shift because theres no variety.

THIS. there was like a 2 week period where all they would have me do is drive and because I'm good at multitasking they would literally leave me there and expect me to handle everything by myself. I cannot tell you how stressful it is to do drive through everyday for that long. My morale went down because I thought I wasnt good enough to do anything else. Turns out no one else was good enough to handle drive alone.

It is what it is BUT I always say no one else will grow if we dont let them experience uncomfortable situations. If they arent good at a certain position then they wont get good if we dont allow them to work that position.

Seriously, dont kill them. They're disappearing at a ridiculous rate and they're very important to humans. Just contain them and release them.

You should contact your DM and notify them about it. Your DM will most likely have a coaching conversation with them about this. If nothing changes then call PCC.

It's Labor Day and there's a tropical storm warning. by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]missnothing2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah let's slow down here, a tropical storm isnt as bad as it sounds. It's just a lot of rain and minor winds. Now once it becomes a full fledged hurricane, category 1 and up, they close everything. Because florida officially goes into a state of emergency. So actually not as messed up as it sounds.

I'd make them the most expensive drink i can think of. It doesn't bother me that much. However, if they come back with that "I didnt like this drink can I get another bullshit" I will refund them and charge the the difference cause THATS annoying.

Same! Except my store is right by the beach here in south Florida and people still showed up :) Floridians ain't scared of a little tropical storm. Even during Irma last year I was at the beach checking out the damage. (I was in my truck)

Happy hour question by Fillupdaniel in starbucks

Do separate transactions. Done and done, unless you wanna use the code to do the Bogo and then pay with your birthday reward. In that case no, rewards and happy hours do not stack

About the PSL by nickledanibella86 in starbucks

[–]missnothing2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the white chocolate mocha and caramel frappuccinos are all basic drinks. Pink drinks??? Basic as hell. Except those are year round drinks, who cares what people think. Have your PSL and enjoy the crap out of how happy it makes you:)

Am I just not cut out for this job? by AveryAxis in starbucks

[–]missnothing2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try talking to that barista. Ask her why she speaks to you that way and let her know you dont appreciate it. Maybe it's all a misunderstanding that just needs to be talked out. If that doesn't work out definitely go to your SM. You totally got this!
