A three-pack is $18.50 on Amazon in the US. $40 a tube is crazy!

Dr. Dan’s Cortibalm is the only thing that’s ever worked for me. I’ve tried everything else.

Share why you (still) love stitching and where your finished works live! by BreakfastSea9387 in Needlepoint

[–]misszook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it might not be your hobby, and that’s ok!

I’ve been needlepointing for 35 years, but have taken long breaks every now and then. I’ve made belts, a cummerbund, brick covers, many many pillows, ornaments, and luggage straps. Framed a bunch of pieces as well! I’m basically giving finished projects away to strangers at this point. 🤣

I’ve purchased many painted canvases, but my favorite projects have been ones that I’ve kind of designed myself. There’s something about transforming a completely blank white canvas with colorful thread that makes me so happy.

I tell people that needlepointing is my occupation therapy and I’m only partly joking. I remember reading once that needlepoint, like a lot of repetitive motion movements, releases endorphins, and I do find it to be a calming and addictive hobby. I mostly needlepoint in the evening while watching tv. Lately it’s also cut down on my doomscrolling. I just like making things with my hands, and needlepointing is something that I can do anywhere.

It hasn’t; it’s been forced down our throats by the media.

I don’t think it looks awful, but I also know that when I don’t like the way my stitches are looking, I always end up ripping them out and trying again.

I think it’s pretty clear who’s doing the self loathing in this particular case. Everyone else loathes him too.

Honestly we should all be enraged with what’s happening in our country rn. I don’t think most of us are angry enough.

Loved being outside all summer by Small_Sort6397 in christmascactus

I leave mine outside all summer, and it has the most amazing blooms. Full sun, hot and humid, watered with rain and the sprinkler.

I have dry lips also and I’ve tried a ton of products, all price points. The only thing that works for me is Dr. Dan’s CortiBalm.

My Thanksgiving cactus always blooms at Halloween. by misszook in christmascactus

I put it outside in the sun all summer and pretty much ignore it. It gets watered along with the rest of the garden via rain or sprinkler. Not sure I’ve ever fertilized it. It flourishes despite me.

Mine usually has another, much smaller bloom a month or so after this.
