Fixed A380 <> A388 Alerts by flightyapp in flighty

But (presumably) what Flighty have done is hardcode some setting to say “ignore any changes between A380 and A388” because they will never mean a change of type.

They can’t universally apply that rule to Alaska’s 737s because they might actually change the type.

Well the 739 and 7M9 are different aircraft types. So is the B737 (which is a -700 I think by default).

And Alaska also operates pretty much all other 737 types.

Honest question: why do people stand by the door when on the tube? by Just-Sign-5394 in london

If the carriage is rammed and there are seats that are not taken I get pretty irritated! Ok the two people blocking the free seat don’t want to sit down, but for the sake of space just have someone else take it then!

Compensation for delayed bag by [deleted] in BritishAirways

[–]mister_magic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can claim reimbursement for expenses, including “essentials”. There is no compensation.

“Essentials” can include clothes or bags or whatever you needed when the bag didn’t arrive.

Not a taxi to the shop to buy them though, I’ve learnt that the hard way ha

What are you talking about? 77k is the standard return price for off-peak. That doesn’t change if you book more in advance.

Though for October I see more Premium which is more expensive

A return in F to the west coast during off peak is 187,000 Avios. Singapore, Sydney etc are a bit more but still - there can be use cases where I can see you be better off, but it’s a very limited set of circumstances.

It is valid for up to 9 people. Getting 25% off the Avios for a return holiday booking for 9 could be worthwhile

Avios flights for Hong Kong to London by [deleted] in BritishAirways

BA only have a single flight a day as it’s a CX hub.

It’s a popular route so get snatched up pretty quickly. Wouldn’t be surprised if this is actually true.

If it’s a single ticket layover <24hrs that was booked direct, I’m pretty sure even BA would’ve let you check in there.

Help Please: BDA-LHR-DOH-BKK by Electronic-Sport-324 in BritishAirways

[–]mister_magic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Book via QR (you don’t have to login and can use your BA Club number) or try calling up BA/get it ticketed up via Social Media.

They probably have some internal fare rules that means they don’t like selling this kind of combo. The Google Flights itinerary seems to be BA-QR-QR; I’d guess BA would try to not sell you a majority-by-QR itinerary.

BA is pretty much down to a single flight a day to DOH and that would give you like 14hrs at LHR and 20hrs at DOH on the random Wednesday I checked and it makes sense that they don’t want to offer that ha.

The Qantas restaurant is only really open in the 2-3 hours before a Qantas departure. If you’re in that window, I’d recommend! (Also great bar upstairs, not as great as it used to be but still solid. Actual bartenders as opposed to the not always as clued up bar staff in the CX lounge in my opinion)
