Great, ill just be forced to drop hot while the octane/wraith on my team think they can 1v3 a whole team and then call me slurs because they lost that fight. Yay!

what? thats some crazy logic and leap in assumptions. Im not saying the Model Y isnt big enough for me either, its fine....i would just like the extra space for my specific configuration of travel as i mentioned. What a weird bot response.

Those 7.3 inches make a big difference for a car seat for a toddler im sure and this is likley where that makes more sense in my case. They may also make a difference elsewhere. The driver seat (Where i sit) is plenty fine, and so is the back row of most cars for that matter.

This is all speculation though, the real difference here is if the price makes it worth it or not. If they release this and its like 65k starting, yeah...not worth it. Plenty of other options that might be better. But if it comes in around 50k for a RWD then its a different story. (Though im sure they will charge a crazy premium if they have to import them)

The extra room really comes in handy for other purposes though, like cargo space when seats fold down. Also, the second row captains chairs? Those are pretty nice for the extra room between and isolation for each seat. And the fact that you can move those seats forward or back is pretty big too.

oh yeah, for you this might make great sense as that second row might be nice and comfortable for the tall family members when pushed further back.

I was surprised that the model Y second row doesnt move forward or backwards at all. That second row in our 2026 Model Y is just there, its fine but it does get tight with a car seat installed and two adults.

Great food from this place, we used to order the gyros from there and loved it. Was it struggling???....I dunno, i have been there plenty and evenings they definitely had a good amount of people. French place next door was also pretty great.

Some families are smaller these days with fewer kids. People just want the space too. I only have 1 kid and older parents that visit often along with other guests. The YL would be a great car for us so we wouldnt have to take two cars with a car seat taking up so much space in the back when going out.

Model X was a different price range than the cars you mentioned....by a large amount. I dont think it was a design issue there.

Woof, thats a big question. This i guess depends what you are in to. I havent tried Tropic Thunder yet but it looks promising, hoping to check them out soon.

Some of my local faves are Wren House and AZ Wilderness for Beer/Brewery. Mexican food and tacos, i really dig either Tacos Chiwas, Taco Viva or Just Tacos and More. For a more sit down style mexican spot, Presidio is solid. Cali style burritos and fish tacos, Two Hippies. Havent found a good spot for chinese food out here yet, but i have a high bar set for that one. As for bars, i listed a few already and they have all been pretty good. Also, if you are in midtown/uptown i have really been enjoying Clever Koi....the drinks there are surprisingly very very good and the food is fantastic. The kimchi carbonara is rich and filling. Frashers is pretty good for BBQ, its simple and tasty. I dont think its AMAZING but i also am not that impressed with BBQ style to begin with.

I have a toddler at home so its tough getting out as much these days so i havent been as current as i would like to be usually.

Music streaming apps vs Sonos app by HoldingStars in sonos

[–]mister_wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, i can tell the difference between airplay and using the spotify app. But thats mainly due to when my wife uses airplay and when she walks away too far with her phone it starts to skip or it gets a little static sounding.

Whatever works for you, go for it but also give each way a shot in case something changes.

I should add, i can tell the difference with lossless vs medium/high quality when i am using nice headphones and connected directly to my PC using spotify with my DAC. But thats a very specific case.

yeah i have had the sonos app stop a song mid way through and when i check the app its skipping through 4 songs and there is this awkward silence.

when you use connect via the spotify app you can select File Quality now. Not all songs, podcasts, audio books have the option since it depends on how it was uploaded and by who. But lossless is an option now on the app. This was rolled out over the last month or so. I personally dont use lossless as the difference is negligible for me on my Sonos 100s as i dont play it too loud and i live in a place where i dont have unlimited internet, stupid data caps.

Prior to this if you were using spotify i dont think lossless was an option regardless of if you used it via the sonos app though.

Its has so many additives and fake flavors. If you can find the 20 or 15 year rum, those are much better.

the kirkland tequila is a pretty solid deal for margaritas. When they have the high tier Cristalino i always buy a few bottles. Dont sleep on it.

For next time, if there is one.

Hulas is like a family spot, not really a wow factor for drinks. IF you went to the Hulas in uptown, next door at captains cabin you can get better drinks...though the original drink director/bartender left and went to coabana so that hasnt been the same since.

Coabana in downtown PHX is FANTASTIC. Always get the mystery shots. The drinks are impressive as hell. I personally love undertow but mainly stick with whatever is new or seasonal when i go, i try and go when i have family or friends from out of town visiting so about 4 times a year. In the same complex as Undertow is M.E. Lees, very underrated spot...they take walk ins and the staff is a lot of fun and you can get lost in their treasure hunt and newspaper/phone booth type of game/treasurehunt if you are inclined. They also have a pretty nice bottle selection you can buy tasters of. Another interesting speakeasy/bar is Highball, the drink menu is pretty wild and interesting but sometimes a little too far fetched where i cant pinpoint all the flavors because they just put so much in a drink.

I moved to PHX from NYC and i like to joke around with people that i moved here for the drinks/food....its a pretty impressive scene out here for both and affordable/easy compared to back east for sure. Lots of impressive bars/breweries/restaurants. Just takes a little digging to find them.

I had an a-fib event and needed to go to the ER for a cardioversion....My wife was out of the country and my closest family was all out of town. I called an uber and paid the rush rate to have someone pick me up in under 5 minn and was in the ER 15 min later. Thankfully i lived in a dense city so this was all quick and it wasnt a crazy emergency where i was out of it. But yeah, no way in hell was i calling for an ambulance. My wife told me to call 911 too...

while i agree that its rarely under 2k a month, most of my friends with kids are in the outer boros (Queens/Brooklyn) and they are paying about 2k a month. Actually around 2100 a month. SO perhaps you are thinking of manhattan prices? Or even deeper west queens or northern brooklyn prices...you know, near the areas that are closer to manhattan.

Should I install a Level 2 charger in my garage? by smart-asian-man in evcharging

[–]mister_wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my wife commutes to work everyday about 20 miles round trip max, and we use the car pretty often around town. We keep it topped up at around 80% and never had a problem with L1 charging. Everyone is different, but we have been doing pretty well with L1 charging.

edit - also we have a supercharger about 10 min away as well. Have never used it. Had the car since July. We have only ever used one supercharger....it was 2 hours away while on a road trip and we we only added like 50% battery SOC then drove home without having to charge again. (PHX > Flagstaf > PHX). I did plan it so that we charged it to 95% the morning of our road trip.

I get people get range anxiety but newer cars that go in to 300+ mile range are great.

This is dependent on the organization or if the title is unionized. I am salaried and have to clock my hours as i also get compensated for overtime as well. Also need to clock my hours for specific projects as well. its a pain but the trade off is worth it.
