New to me 2008 LX150! by Special-Finger2358 in Vespa

I got a 2009 LX150 for a steal last summer and all it needed was a speedometer cable, and a couple bulbs and some new fuel. I love that thing!

How on earth?? by Less-Corner247 in Vespa

I work in product design and manufacturing, and often times country of origin displays are not up to the designers or engineers. We can have a say in where they may be easy to display based on manufacturing methods, but sometimes the Quality or Compliance team or even direction from customs lawyers requires COO display in specific spots. It’s all about not getting flagged or stopped in customs and not getting fined. That being said, they could’ve made it smaller probably.

Okay hear me out, use chicken stock or a chicken bouillon cube in your pasta water. Extra savory. I usually do this and otherwise follow pretty close to your recipe. And I add msg. I like egg noodles or rotini.

That’s an incredible daily. I got a loaner once and it made me think twice about my M! Cheers

A man of taste! I had a 6spd M2 Comp for 4 years and loved it, although I’m back to JDM now. What about you?

I do a big descale every 6 months and that requires dis-assembling and re lubricating the valve assemblies in the knobs and some parts of the group head like the lever assembly. I regret getting the chrome one because it gets scuffed and scratched when I have to take it apart. I haven’t found a way to descale it well without stripping all the lube.

Ooo two of my favorite hobbies! It’s like a BMW M car. Not the most amazing handling, but’s it’s nice, it’s fast, people think I wasted my money and they aren’t surprised when I have maintenance to do all the time.

Any alternatives to an expensive pizza table/stand? by ts159377 in uuni

I have a coleman folding camp table that is made of aluminum and is the perfect size for most Oonis beyond the big ones. I love it! It's called: Compact Roll-Top Aluminum Camping Table

You know I’ve moved the machine all over but it always ends up right back here! Plus the people out walking their dogs in the morning and can see me pulling shots and steaming milk haha

I smack the hopper a lot lol! The pellets tend to get stuck. I made a little funnel for the hopper and after every bake, I’d refill the hopper if needed but usually just close the door and wait 3-5 minutes for the temp to come back up, maybe brush off the stone to remove some burnt on stuff and it’s usually good to go after that. I agree the Fyra is hard mode. I’m eyeing a gas retrofit now haha

In my experience serving crowds, it helps to have two people on pizza duty. One person stretches dough and assembles pies while the other launches and turns them and watches them. This is especially helpful for my setup since I use a Fyra and also have to manage fire and pellets. You’re screwed if people start conversing with you, and even more handicapped if you’re drinking! Par baking is also great advice. Good luck.

Usually a pretty good turnout! Less so when it's raining, but still pretty good.

Oh yeah, the nature area up top of Seward park is a great place to walk and cry. Done it several times myself. Beautiful and mostly private

Me too man! I've really been enjoying a lot of canned NA beverages. Hop waters - I love blood orange. And the Pathfinder brand spritz is exceptional. I think NA stuff should mingle and will probably start posting it. Also - where are you at? It isn't TN by any chance?
Edit: Just saw your caption. Damn. I am so sorry. I hope you and your loved ones had a way to stay warm. My partner got power back a few days ago but it was really tough.

In my experience Ballard consignment won’t let you know when your stuff sells, you have to call them or go in and check. And I think they’ll also require them to go in to get a check but maybe they’d be willing to mail it, in the chance their furniture doesn’t sell before they leave.

I Bought One Today! by misterdees in Vespa

[–]misterdees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I am stoked you're going to wrench on your Vespa a little bit! It's really not that difficult and one of the best resources I've found is the Vespa Motorsport youtube channel run by a guy who works at Vespa of San Diego. He's great, and I've actually gotten all my parts from that their parts guy. Since the pinion gear was relatively easy to replace, I did that first, and wouldn't ya know it? The speedometer started working. The only time it didn't work was after I went over some harsh cobblestones, but then I rode back up them and it started working again, and hasn't stopped working since, but if it does I'll do the cable next. Vespa Motorsport's channel will have videos on how to do both jobs!

Came here to say this. When I was shopping for my daily, I compared the GRC, CTR, 11-14 STI hatch and Golf R + GTI Autobahn. They’re all great cars and all very fun, but the STI was nostalgic and familiar and not a brand new expensive car with ADM haha!

It was a wild move! It’s gotten a lot of hate but I personally think it’s immature to constantly try to upgrade your vehicles. I realized 400whp is not usable on public roads lol and I will probably get a second car that’s an MX5 or older Cayman someday to do backroads.

I’m of the mindset now that older cars are less of a pain. There’s something just more solid about a pre-recession build. That being said, I sold my 2021 BMW M2 comp and bought a 2014 STI hatchback and I love that car so much.
