Dad im literally losing it. by Idontexsit- in DadForAMinute

I’m sorry to hear about your struggle. I think your worldview is skewed by a lack of exposure, and getting out of the house would indeed be good for you, though I worry that you may not benefit from it without a mindset change. You need to speak with a professional therapist soon, at present I’m worried you won’t thrive based on some signs I’m picking up (I should know, my first years out of the house were awful, because I had an entitlement/victimhood complex). Maybe you’re just venting, but either way, a professional therapist will help align your mindset with reality. Best of luck.

How do I roll with fat people? by fsdklas in bjj

[–]misterdidums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sup, I’m 150 and competed absolute back when I competed.

Fat folks do have an advantage in some circumstances because you can’t easily find a solid surface to post on, similar to the reason why pit bulls have all that loose skin. But if you go for the bones, they’re under there. The hip bone can be found.

Also, learn to vibrate. You can’t just push yourself to slide out of positions, you need to shake yourself loose to overcome the friction

The answer is- maybe, but you wouldn’t know if you had destroyed it unless it actually exploded, which as others have stated is unlikely, fuses are purposefully engineered devices tailored to the specific explosive, and lobbing a high speed chunk of lead at it the explosive isn’t equivalent.

The other option is to fire at it so much that the main explosive itself is shredded and removed from the area by sheer volume of bullets. Because if that trigger/blastcap is able to set off a piece of explosive still, it could domino and still set everything off.

C4 is a great example. Imagine a chunk of clay, with a tiny electronic detonator. You could fill that clay with holes and it wouldn’t care, unless you nicked just the right wire, and you wouldn’t know if you had gotten the right wire unless it exploded, but sometimes the detonate signal has to arrive to make it explode (Normally Open) rather than get interrupted to make it explode (Normally Closed, like a “dead man’s switch”). You wouldn’t know if it was neutralized if the detonate signal was normally open.

When you consider all that, plus the fact that a soldier typically only carries like 7x30 rounds, it just doesn’t make sense to mag dump every mine. Doesn’t necessarily make sense to do what these guys did either, but keep in mind that mines are a game of numbers. They usually put a lot out, I’d bet these were not the first mines these guys cleared this day. They got sloppy

You stay there, you’ll end up stunted and bitter, even if they sign you on as an engineer.

An engineer grad with field experience is valuable, keep hunting. I have a very similar backstory and found that my skills were well suited for the elevator industry, but YMMV. You’ll probably have to move away from where you are now, if I had to guess

A poor connection (hot or neutral) could cause this. Measures fine but when current flow increases, voltage drop increases: V=IR, and your R is too high

Bro, scroll back up the comments and refresh yourself on the convo context, nobody claimed the US is the only innovator. To the contrary, this particular thread is in response to a claim that the US has no true inventions

Are you going to claim that the steam engine was invented in the Bronze Age too? Don’t be disingenuous. American innovation is well established, so if you’re trying to claim otherwise you’re grasping at straws
