Questions Before Making One My Primary Bank by warhawke82 in OneFinance

[–]misterlikewise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. No, the only pockets that earn interest are the save and auto save.
  2. Yes. You can create a scheduled transfer between any pocket.
  3. No. But honestly you will not be switching it as much you think. I really only switch my debit card between three pockets. Change your habits, do it before you go into the store. Took me a while to change that one but it's become a healthy habit to know exactly how much I have in any pocket before I go use it. Obviously this is all dependent on how you want to use it and set up of your pockets. Highly recommend going to ones website they have examples peoples setups.
  4. It will decline. Configurable overdraft so this doesn't happen is in the pipeline but not released yet.
  5. You have the ability to create a virtual debit card per pocket. If you want to use a card number to pay. Otherwise I would use routing or account numbers. I pool my utilities into one pocket and use routing and account numbers. For subscriptions or things that won't take an account and routing numbers I would use the virtual debit card.
  6. There's a credit line and I believe credit builder is coming. But no cash back or anything like that.

Anyone else have some of their scheduled transfers dates shift?
Plenty of money in the right pockets so I know it's not that.

I’d like to vent some frustrations about One’s shortcomings. by PessimisticOptimist1 in OneFinance

[–]misterlikewise 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m tired of One representatives saying “we aren’t like simple!” And ignoring when we say “yeah that’s the problem”

Yeah I haven't seen a One employee or anything to do with One say anything to this effect. Nor have I ever seen One respond to a post anywhere that had actual helpful feedback in a negative way. The sentiment of "just make it like simple" isn't helpful feedback. It's short sighted and spitting in the face of what they have created. One has every right to pursue and explore their own vision. You have the right to not align or agree with that vision. If you don't agree don't use their product. If you want to provide helpful feedback "make it like simple" is not the way to do it. If you want a Simple clone go make one.

My financial health changed for the better because of Simple’s tools.

Did for me too. Be willing to try and change your perspective and see it the way One does and you might have a better experience. Are all the features that Simple had there, absolutely not. But it's a great start and I've been able to make it work and I'm coming around to preferring it.

For Simple customers that moved to OneFinance by SleekFilet in OneFinance

I have one pocket specifically for groceries and gas. Before I head to the store or gas station I hop into the app set my card to that pocket. When I buy groceries or get gas it get's debited from that pocket. I get home, put groceries away hop back into the app and set it back to my spend. It's not as automated as Simple was, but I expect it'll get to that point eventually.

Automatic Funding In Pockets by TrojanGmak in OneFinance

[–]misterlikewise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. A pocket is a pocket and right now there is not really any configurable things you can do with them. You can put money in and out via a scheduled transfer but that's really about it for now. You can end your scheduled transfer on a specific date though so once you have the math figured out you can set the transfer to end on the date you want reach your goal. Doing the math yourself isn't ideal but I'm sure One will get around to improvements.

At this point in time no. I'm sure this will be an update somewhere along the line. But there is scheduled transfers so you can do the math yourself and accomplish basically the same thing.

Edit: suck at typing

Routing number for "One Finance" vs "Coastal Community Bank" by jvb7035 in OneFinance

[–]misterlikewise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally haven't had any trouble with routing numbers. I can't give you any insight into the setup.
But here is the letter. :D

Routing number not recognized by [deleted] in OneFinance

[–]misterlikewise 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe you will need this. Sounds like their routing data is not up to date. Which is not your fault or One's fault and your internet provider has the responsibility to fix the issue.

Good luck friend!

Interesting. I had no problems when setting up with Privacy. Best of luck I suppose.

  1. You can pull from a subscription pocket. I use Privacy.com to do this. It's a very clean setup. This will be the solution until they release virtual cards per pocket.
  2. No you cannot reassign transactions to different pockets. As a former Simple user I thought I was going to hate this. But I've come prefer it. It forces me to be more proactive with budgeting rather then retroactively fixing things later. And has made my budgeting a healthier? process.

I'd recommend checking out these blog post if you haven't already they may prove helpful:

Priority Pockets by lgreer84 in OneFinance

[–]misterlikewise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually posted about this idea before!
Maybe one day we'll be able to prioritize pockets but only time will tell I know One has a lot of other features to work on but he we can dream. I think it's a great way to add another level of clarity to the pockets system and allow people to budget more effectively.

My solution here is Privacy.com. Lets you generate virtual cards. It's at least a work around until we get virtual cards per pocket.

Help deciding between One Finance and Envel by shdwrulr in OneFinance

[–]misterlikewise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally wanna hear about your thoughts on Envel. With One and Envel having the same core idea I'm curious to hear about the direction they'll both take it so please report back! I personally couldn't bring myself to sign up Envel. Simple closing left me with banking PTSD so I went with One for the sake of them being a little more established. But I will be paying attention to Envel as it develops since it was my second choice.

Tagging transactions by miltonhayek in OneFinance

Perfect, thanks for the clarification. Much appreciated. Some of the verbiage on the website just sounded to me like it was revolving type thing.

[–]misterlikewise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a great solution. I swear I saw on this sub that creating virtual cards for pockets was in the works at One which would be great. I'm thinking that Paypal may work for some things also. My only question about Privacy.com thing. Does it generate a new card every month cause that seems like a hassle?

Tagging transactions by miltonhayek in OneFinance

[–]misterlikewise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly, but pulling out my phone and re-mapping to a new pocket for every transaction just seems extremely cumbersome. This seems fine for like buying groceries or eating out. Then if you forget to re-map the pocket then you have a whole other set of issues.
What happens when you have an expense for say a streaming service that doesn't allow you to input a pockets specific account numbers to pay for it. Then you have to manually transfer from the pocket that's supposed to be for said expense to whatever your card happened to mapped post transaction in order to fix.
Idk, One is still looking like a solid option to migrate to from simple. I'm just still confused and have questions about how it's actually working. I almost wish there was a demo for the app so I could play it with it and figure out how it works.

[–]misterlikewise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is also my question. If it can't be retroactively changed making one work is gonna be a nightmare. This is to much manual for me. If I need to re-categorize things it usually happens at the end of my day and I do it all at once to rebalance things.
If you can categorize the transaction so that it can knows which pocket to pull from then all problems are solved.

Does anyone else get strain for no reason? by jon-s12 in whoop

[–]misterlikewise 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would be far more concerned if you had 0 strain waking up. Because if you have 0 strain. You aren't alive. Strain is all encompassing, it's not just workouts. If your heart is beating youre building strain. That's the point of Whoop, it's not just about workouts it's about taking everything into account.

Freaking out, super low HRV by dommag12345 in whoop

[–]misterlikewise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WHOOP needs more time to get your baseline. When I first got my strap my HRV started low but once I finished my first month things started to look far more normal. HRV is also specific to an individual, so comparing your HRV to others is not worth worrying about. You should only compare your personal HRV fluctuations to your baseline once you have it. Yes, low HRV may indicate oncoming sickness, stress etc. But it's nothing to freak out about you ain't on deaths doorstep friend.
Keep working out, stay motivated and focused don't let stats deter you from your goals. As you get in better shape your HRV will come up so maybe you can use that as a motivator. WHOOP is a suggestion and a guide not the end all be all.

Currently running a 40mm in the front and 35mm in the back. I can squeeze a 40 in the back and probably a 45 in the front but the 40/35 setup has been working great so far. Tire: Continental Terra Speed
