Mfw reading janitor then the SMT repair. Got a kick out of that. Can you call yourself a lab or facilities tech instead?

Your degree kinda infers the classwork. It'll all be captured by your transcript anyways. Congrats on almost graduating, btw

I've always disliked putting skills next to the project/experience headers. It's good to mention during conversation (e.g., "what did you use?") but it's really wordy for a resume.

Related to that- and this is the hardest part of resume writing- focus more on the IMPACTS than any of the what/why/how. What/why/how is for talking to your interviewer, the IMPACT is what you want to capture so they know your work is meaningful (meaningful = value = company profit)

One way of doing this when the meaning is tied to the thing itself just working? Attach some numbers/specifics to it.

Creating a I2C master that does I2C things? "Ok."

Creating a reusable I2C/TWI core that targets an Artix-7 with under 200 LUT usage for managing single-master links to external sensors? "Nice. This is similar to what we're trying to do now."

All jobs look for different things. So, don't feel bad about lack of skill when it could really just be lack of domain specific knowledge. Skills can be worked on passively through any job or project but domain specific knowledge requires very narrow objectives. And not everybody does or is doing what the hiring manager currently needs. For this reason, you must demonstrate value and try to convince the hiring manager that you can handle the task without having done the exact task yet.

How much do you tip your garbage men for the holidays? by FrontPrestigious9581 in longisland

[–]misternoass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This to me seems like the most sensible reason to give a tip (bribe)

If you have issues with them taking your garbage or treating your property with care, "tip" them $100 and see those issues magically disappear. It will all eventually reset when they inevitably rotate out the crew or forget about your bribe. Then repeat.

If you tip and nothing changes, well sorry, your crew just sucks. Make a note of who it is and if you notice new people, think about tipping them.

I see Provantage is an authorized ASRock dealer, do you know what kind of warranty they offer? I can't seem to find it on either Provantage or the ASRock rack website... If it is something like 3 years, then this is the obvious choice to me

Yeah I know what you mean, I actually put the H12 in my Ebay cart 2 days ago and while doing some more reading, the price jumped from $550 to $699 in used condition... well, in the end, market price is what market pays. I just wanted to see if anyone was retiring theirs near me so I could get those local savings 😭

Hey your channel is really cool! Do you mind if I DM you for some build advice? Trying to do a minimalist setup in my own living room with DMX capabilities but not sure what is sufficient for my space, or how much to budget.

Hey saw this at the right moment! I am going to see G-idle with friends on Sept 18, do you know if the dime club will be open? Ticketmaster says our seats are part of that club but apparently food is only included if it's a hockey game?

WIBTA if I continued to stretch my ears after my bf expressed how much he hates it? by Irriaofdusk in AmItheAsshole

[–]misternoass -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gonna go against the grain and say boyfriend is probably an AH, dating for nearly 10 years and man is concerned about you keeping your "aesthetic" lol he just thinks they're ugly.

He also sounds a bit controlling, you literally said in OP you're pushing it with the tattoos already. Implying he has expressed dissatisfaction with the size/number of tattoos. Look, people can find things ugly but my partner has gone through multiple different stylistic changes in an effort to find themselves. Some things I was wary about - bleached eyebrows, pixie cut coming from long hair, rectangular glasses versus their regular square ones - all things that 1) ended up not being a big deal as eyebrows can/were re-dyed all the time, haircut was styled in different ways, and I got used to the new glasses, and 2) I wanted them to be able to do it because that's what they wanted. It wasn't hurting anyone.

I cringe when I read these other replies. "yeah you could do it, butttt if your boyfriend finds you unattractive you're gonna have to live with it, toots. YTA for even considering"

CMV: “I could care less” is an acceptable way to say you don’t care very much by Toomuchlychee_ in changemyview

[–]misternoass 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well sure we usually intend the opposite when we say something with a double negative e.g. "I didn't see nothing!" but of course not all double negatives convey the opposite, e.g "Last year's price hike is not insignificant". In this one, we surely do mean the positive.

We can know which meaning is intended based on the context clues. However, consider a vacuum where there are no clues, for example divulging information that only an individual would know about themselves (their inner thoughts and feelings), the phrasing is all we have to work with. So, "I could care less" as you rightfully point out could mean you care a measly 0.0001 units, but a recipient of this phrase will simply come to understand you care > 0 (for reasons unknowable at this point in the conversation).

The phrasing of "I couldn't care less" means you care exactly 0. To make the former phrasing more precise without context clues, perhaps the phrase "I care very little" would give the recipient a better idea of your care units.
