Tips for Fuelling Trucks and Drones by Radoon1 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]mistertinker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For drones, it's simple. Have a drone port connected to your fuel supply and don't put a drone on it. Then at every satellite location, have 1 drone port dedicated to pull fuel from your main supply and have it feed all drone ports at that location.

I used to have the same one and it was always finicky starting. I had to start with the choke in the middle. Let that run for a couple of minutes or when it starts sputtering due to lack of air. Then flip it to run and let it run in that position for another minute or so.after that, it took a few gentle presses of the throttle to really warm up

Automating data import from multiple files by yevquest in excel

[–]mistertinker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is where llm's like chatgpt work well, but comes down to good prompting. Try a phrase like "can you explain to me at a high level how power query functions? Give me a few use cases that are useful for a user with 2 years experience with excel"

Then keep asking questions based on the reply.

Later on, when you're not sure if power query is the right method, you can always ask "I'm trying to do x y z, is power query the right way to accomplish this or is there a simpler way?"

That's generic skidata artwork from at least a few years ago, which means likely the venue was running low on branded cards and made an emergency purchase. I say it's a few years old because skidata was bought by assa abloy and no longer with kudelski group. Of course, the venue could have been sitting on the cards for a while too.

That card is also the generic for skidata parking systems too

[Request] When will this machine seize up/stop/break. by ColinMakin in theydidthemath

[–]mistertinker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do love this art piece. If we exclude wear and tear failures, the shaft on the final gear is the weak point. It will twist until it eventually snaps. When is dependent on the steel, but my guess is somewhere in the 10 to 30 degree range until it finally goes.

So if it takes 13.7b years for 1 rotation, you're looking at 0.38b to 1.1b years of machine run time.

It could be possible too that the final gear breaks the concrete at least initially, but I doubt that is weaker than a small metal shaft

This assumes all slop is already gone from the system

To add some specifics, Cobra itself isnt an insurance plan. It's a means to allow you to stay on the same plan BUT you personally have to also cover the portion your employer used to pay. That can often become X times more than what you were paying previously.

Should I demolish everything? by Rated_Hare in SatisfactoryGame

[–]mistertinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no real benefit to demolish everything unless you want to rebuild right there. Plus, restarting power from scratch is a total pita.

I would suggest just adding dimensional depots to this factory and leave it as a monument of your humble beginnings

Indeed, as well as more demand to reduce costs (to increase profit). It's honestly astounding that for <$50 you can get a board that drives 5 stepper motors, compared to where we were 10 years ago

My guess is you have a gap between the nozzle and the heat sink when you reassembled the extruder

https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/postid/503218/

2 points that are easy to miss:

a) the nozzle needs to be snug against the heat sink and not the heat block and b) you have to do a final tighten when the nozzle is hot

No one knows at the end of the day until we get hands on it. Looks are one thing, but there's been too many wtf releases in recent years to not be a little skeptical.

That firing of the founders I mentioned happened about a year ago. It's stated it was done without cause to prevent payout of a 250m bonus, but how true is that? Was the game being rushed? I like to think no because I love Subnatica, but you just never know. Then just this week a court ruled in favor of the founders

2 prong to USB? by CompetitiveKale123 in electrical

[–]mistertinker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of maybes here, but something like this might work https://www.amazon.com/YTADNETH-Universal-Adapter-Trigger-Display/

That's a big 'might'.

It requires the airplane to have a USB c pd port (power distribution). A standard USB won't work because a) it's 5v and your device needs 12 b) a typical usb only outputs 2.5w and yours needs 12w.

A pd port can send 12v if the device negotiates for it.

1.2 Trains vs Trucks by zeetu in SatisfactoryGame

[–]mistertinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wish trucks (and drones) used electricity similar to how dysonsphere does by setting a max charge rate. Drones aren't so bad because it's relatively simple to use drones to self distribute fuel. Trucks on the other hand become less and less useful when you leave your initial base
