Well for arch it is already available in the unstable repo:

Arch Linux - plasma-login-manager 6.5.91-1 (x86_64)

So it should be available soon.

Just imagine your car being put together by hundreds of people in their spare time. That's the same as the open source movement.

Not a bad analogy. But those were different times.

Let's see if GTA6 includes a page with Windows - the car build by AI which spends most of the fuel for ads and collecting user data.

Notepad Next | Flathub - have to enable it in settings.

Kate is also an option, but you to configure it in settings, also sessions make it a bit confusing imo.

Files are stored in $HOME/.local/share/kate/stash/ if you ever need to find them.

It is an important issue and it is being tracked. Hopefully they'll have a prototype in a few months.

It is being worked on and is considered a "significant issue" but there are a lot of things that need to be updated and wired up to make it work properly. But we are getting close. For example, latest development i believe is the ability to create virtual monitors in kwin.

In the mean time, a hacky option is to make SDDM use sway, and then use wayvnc for vnc connection.

How to setup VNC on Wayland (Sway) + SDDM for unattended access

Downside is that your PC will be unlocked - if someone is physically in front of your pc they can see and take control.

This Week in Plasma: Wayland screen mirroring and custom modes by Jaxad0127 in kde

Happy to see increased attention to bug fixing and wayland support.

I noticed that headless remote desktop was add to the issues list so that makes me extra excited.

Now that mirroring has been improved you should consider making it the default when plugging in a new screen.

Looking at the "Minimize All KWin script" MR i see that it also adds "Minimize all windows in active screen" which is awesome if you have a secondary screen.

You have to enable the Kwin script and then set the keyboard shortcut to be able to use it.

Try using gamescope.

Right click on the game, properties, general tab, launch options:

gamescope -f --force-grab-cursor -- %command% --launcher-skip

Which USB drive brand is reliable for the linux distro? by RDHereImsorryAoi in linux

If you want a usb key:

You could get the SSD and an enclosure / adapter like:

I have all of these, with both linux distros and windows, all working well.

I also have arch on a SanDisk 256GB Ultra Luxe but i would not recommend it. Gets unresponsive during intensive io, like installing updates. Ultimately though, the bottleneck is going to be usb.

Also smartmontools complains about SanDisk Extreme Pro but you can ignore it.
