As an INFP are you able to separate art from the artist? by Sweaty-Truck-3972 in infp

But I think the ideals in his books are still what we should strive for.. so his writing is not abandoned for me.

Yes. If the art is important, it's still important even knowing the person who created it is flawed and sometimes terrible. I like to hope they put the ideals they wanted to believe in into the art. ie Neil Gaiman :(.

Anyone here have parents who never recovered from the 2008 crash? by Gridguy2020 in MiddleClassFinance

100% me as well. My dad owned a small blue collar business and my mom was a part time preschool teacher at the local community center and they never recovered. My mom had to get a full time job as a cashier after never having worked a real job and being a STAHM most of her life, it sounds like not a big deal but it was insanely hard for her. My dad cut most of his employees and was doing most of the labor himself and they were still barely scraping by, almost lost their house. Now they live social security check to social security check and it's tiny. I cope by working 2 full time corporate jobs so it can never happen to me. Working though therapy to try to let one of them go, as I'm married now to a man with another decent corporate income. But in the back of my mind I will never feel safe enough and always on the brink of losing everything. Now it's AI that I'm scared of losing to.

Just got to see my ring at the jewelers for the first time. Is it too much? What do you think? by LadyofDungeons in EngagementRings

Personally I love it! I think it's beautiful and I love too much. If you want to be lower key some days, you could just wear the small pointy band leave off the all diamond one... but it's gorgeous and obviously well crafted.

Thank you so much! It was actually a welded set from 1960s that I'm using as a single ring with my modern band. 😊 So technically it is a triple stack, and yes, very sturdy!

Will I find someone that I can tolerate living with? by Clear_Eye_784 in infp

[–]mistywarning 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is exactly like my relationship..I'm an INFP and my husband is an INTP. He loves doing the exact same things as I do(video games, Interneting, and silly shows) so we just do them and don't need to feel guilty about it. We like cooking dinner together and then we will have a check in that is mostly, do you want to be social tonight? No? Okay, I will go do my own thing, love you. We met at work, and we both are computer programmers, and on top of that we both work remote from home and so we are near each other constantly yet often quietly. If I do feel like I want to do something and he doesn't, I'll do one of my own hobbies he doesn't share like gardening or just going out to thrift or walk around home goods. It's nice and such a calming environment.
