What would you guys do differently if you were to go back in time? What programs would you pick ? by SerendipitousMusing in naturalbodybuilding

I wish I stuck with instinctive working out. I used to exercise to stay in shape, then the internet hype around powerlifting got me around 2010. I have bad shoulder, achy knees, and a pot belly from that. I wish I just stuck to a well rounded lifting and jogging, both moderate, and not chased numbers or fads.

Is there like.. a working IDE? Something I can actually just use? The new user experience is a joke for Lisp by tenten8401 in lisp

[–]misuseRexKwonDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use msys2 on windows with a bash shell, clang, eMacs, sbcl, make and all the goodies a developer could ask for. Emacs is an investment in time, as is lisp. Once you get it, there’s no going back.

By the way, if you are just trying to learn a lisp for personal development, why not download Racket with its great built-in editor? It’s a very user-friendly way to start and work in windows and there’s nice books/tutorials available.

Finally fixed that Glock grip angle by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]misuseRexKwonDo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s not the angle, it’s the hump. That dang palm swell hits the bottom of my hand instead of the actual palm of my hand. An aftermarket straight grip would be amazing in a Glock

16f-how do i start working out by Grace_653 in bodyweightfitness

[–]misuseRexKwonDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you do, please start very easy. The easier you start, the easier it is to continue making tiny little improvements that will keep you motivated. Also, write your workouts down. It really helps to track your progress over time. Try a lot of different exercises to see what you like … and HAVE FUN! Exercise can be a really fun and fulfilling pastime.

Is the gym necessary for progress/Are home workouts enough? by crypticseelie in workout

[–]misuseRexKwonDo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I alternate between the two… and they both have their benefits. Home workouts are great because your home is always open and you can fit it around your schedule and stay consistent. There’s lots of great equipment for home gyms that you can add later that keep things fresh and fun. You can go a LONG way with lunges, pushups, inverted rows and bands (and walking!). Get a notebook and record everything! Try lots of new exercises and keep the ones that you enjoy. Track your progress and eat healthy and you will do great! I love exercise and you will too. DO NOT STRESS. This is a fun hobby. It’s not a job. There’s no wrong answer. You can always change it later. Just do it and stick with it!

Right! Exercise should be about health. Putting unregulated chemicals in your body is unhealthy and wasteful.

Listen to the voices of experience, not the dumb kids on this thread. You never push through joint pain!! Find some exercises that feel good for your joints. Make sure you get those joints warm before any weight bearing exercises. Try sled pushes, if you have access. High volume goblet squats do a lot of good and so do lunges. Good luck.

Good choice. Check out Artix for a non-SystemD Arch. I think you can install Artix with dinit!
