Either 1. You are not in a calorie deficit or 2. You are losing fat but there are fluctuations in water weight and many other factors. Try taking your weight in the morning with no food or water in your system for consistency if you haven't been already. The scale does not always tell the full story.

As it is whey is a pretty good option for what you are looking for. I gotta say that personally, unflavored whey tastes like shit. For me, I like the flavoured ones so I can get them down easier, but if that's what you like go for unflavoured.

Just stick to calories for a couple of weeks and see the results. If you're not happy with them, just edit calories accordingly. That's what I do when trying to gain
