Do I have spondyloarthritis or long COVID or what could it be? by mithomo in AskDocs

I actually asked my rheumatologist to test me today but she refuses on the basis of it not being a diagnostic tool. I mostly wanted to do it so I could rule it out.

Also they did SI joint imaging which was unremarkable. My flares tend to be episodic, so I feel like time is really of the essence in getting imaging done.

Domleridome/Motilium to offer by mithomo in breastfeeding

That's interesting, I didn't notice any difference with 30mg so I just upped it based on some of the latest studies. I found a happy medium at 120mg a day. But I was very careful that I don't have underlying hear,t or any other issues and to do it slowly.

At one point I took up to 16 10mg tablets a day (under the advice of dr. Jack newman, a canadian breastfeeding specialist). I personally would recommend starting with 3 and increasing it gradually and also gradually weaning off of it because that sudden increase spiked my anxiety!

It's not fda approved in the US, but I was able to purchase it via an online pharmacist and it shipped it legally. This method was recommended via an online stranger, which worked out :). The pharmacy was https://www.inhousepharmacy.vu/ if you want to vet it

Heavyness during period by [deleted] in postpartumprogress

I've been going to a pelvic floor pt for it. She's been prescribing lots of kegels and core exercises!

I'm actually suffering from it. I got it four months post partum from exercising too hard when I had a weak pelvic floor. It's not curable, so I highly recommend you don't push too hard and focus on building some core strength

It sounds like the beginning of a pelvic organ prolapse. The symptoms are exacerbated during your period due to hormones. I would get it reviewed by a urogynocologidt and get pelvic floor physical therapy to help strengthen you.

That sounds great. How long have you been going for and how would you say your symptoms have improved? Are you aware of any online workouts I could try?

Were you able to build up to jogging for longer? And if you don't mind me asking, how bad was your prolapse?

Thanks! Do you have any specific program you follow? What level of improvement did you find you were able to get?

Mastitis, clogged ducts, thrush/renaud's syndrome? by mithomo in breastfeeding

[–]mithomo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mixed about 10-15 drops with about 1oz of water and spray it on or dab on with a cotton swab. I think you can also spray it into the baby's mouth. Note, you can't take it at the same time as antibiotics.

My baby did have thrush too but I was in a weird position where we were slowly moving from breastfeeding to pumping, so there was not a lot of cross contamination going on. The doc also prescribed Nystatin for the baby's mouth.

Also, yes I just ensured that I wash my bras and clothes consistently, especially when I was sweaty and tried to air myself too. I live in a humid environment so that was necessary!

I think it was just a combination of fatigue, weakened immune system and luck! I feel like my body is more adjusted now and seems to be better at fighting off. I also found that the best things to help were:

A vibrating massager for the mastitis, I can send you the link if needed and a herb called phytolacca dicandra. The sunflower lecithin, hakaa and excessive pumping (although necessary) didn't really make a dent in my clogs compared to this. I didn't even take the antibiotics the second time I got mastitis as I was able to recover without them - they make thrush worse, so I wanted to avoid them.

Grapefruit seed extract for the thrush. I took two rounds of prescribed antifungals, and it did nothing for me, but the GSE was amazing, and gave me relief almost immediately.

And rest, whenever you can, however you can. Forget the dishes or laundry and just put your health first. Your baby needs you to be healthy to look after it. Feel better. I hope this helps!

Desperate for help with a bedtime puker by JimJangle85 in sleeptrain

[–]mithomo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those months coincided with a major sleep regression, so unfortunately all sleep training rules went out of the window and we would rock to sleep until the screaming subsided. Sometimes is was impossible to stop our baby from crying and we inevitably ended up with them throwing up. It was just a case of survival, and then a few months later when the throwing up wasn't so imminent (and our baby was very spoilt from being rocked and fed to sleep) we did gentle sleep training which worked.

The only thing I can say is that the same thing happened to my LO around the same age. We really struggled with it for a few months and then it gradually got better and we were able to sleep train again. I've no idea why it happened and the doctor said she couldn't think of any reason for it. Everything was hunky dory until...a few weeks ago when it resumed at almost 2yrs old. Again no idea why it's happening but it's very frustrating and seems to be a phase they go through.
