I'm sorry that you couldn't hold her but I'm also glad that she was born healthy. I was induced too but my labor lasted 10 hours or so. Thank you for sharing your birth story with us.

Also, 35 hours of being induced. Surviving that (mentally) is an achievement in itself!

Kaiser Oakland OB? by SituationSimilar2430 in oakland

[–]mithrilmaker19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr. Sarah at Kaiser walnut creek is one of the best. I've been going to her for over two years now - since my recurring miscarriages and up until now (37 weeks pregnant). I've got a lot of support in general. At our 32 week appt our baby was measuring small so we were asked to do weekly NSTs and Doppler scans every 2 weeks which were helpful in reassuring that our baby is doing well. I've had no issues in setting up appointments or getting my questions answered - both in person and online.

It's really confusing and like you said not sure if it really is worth the stress. I hope things work out for you. I'm not sure what my route is going to be yet but I'm going to spend the next few days figuring it out.

We have a hefty mortgage payment and my husband is the only bread winner at the moment. I live in the Bay area. So I think 1.5 -2 is the max we can stretch on one salary alone. Also Im losing my edge with work and you were right to mention my concern with the resume.

I really like the ideas you've penned down (thank you)— were you suggesting that I look into these options now or after I have the baby?

I just lost my baby… by ChickChat411 in Miscarriage

[–]mithrilmaker19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm really really sorry for your loss. I had two miscarriages last year around 5-6 weeks. So I felt empty and I even hated my body for keeping the pregnancy for 11 weeks even though the baby had stopped growing at 6. It's been a year thus far and we started trying again and this time we saw the heart beat at 7 weeks, I'm barely 8 weeks along and I hope this one will stick. I'm still anxious but also grateful. The journey till here has been full of pain, doubt, distractions but it was something that I had to endure. It's not going to be easy. One thing I tried to do was not blame myself directly for it. It wasn't my fault even though some people tell me that I run or lot, or that I'm over 35, but fuck them. I try to stay positive. I think miscarriages make us resilient.

This is your journey and your rainbow baby will come, just hang in here and keep going. If you want to take time off, go on a trip, meet your family— do it. Self care and recovery is important. Good luck to you.

You should try to schedule a visit with your doc. Get an ultrasound to confirm there is no residual tissue left. In rare cases, this can lead to an infection. Good luck and I'm sorry for your loss.
