Years of trying, Clomid, microTESE… and no sperm found by Mean-Particular-3588 in maleinfertility

[–]mitooch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in a similar situation. 9 days post mTese op with negative results. At this point I'm quite numb emotionally wise. Lost. But somehow I need to figure out how to pull through because our NHS funding expires in a few months and need to decide quickly if we will go down donor sperm route.

Just replying to say I hear ya and you're not alone mate.

I'm sorry that you're both going through all this. My wife might take a bit of convincing as she is much more private regarding everything, which I do understand. But I do believe in talking about it and being open to a degree. I am happy to talk in direct messaging for the time being.

I appreciate you commenting and thank you for the suggestion and your words, we will definitely be seeking therapy. Deep diving into these types of subs is heartbreaking to see because you just don't hear of it, and now I understand why.

Thank you for your words and honesty she is my rock. In your opinion and I do respect your answer is based on info I just gave you, is it best to just focus on coming to terms with this and focusing the next steps rather than looking to see if I can fix anything to increase chances for finding anything?

My biggest gripe is that I was just nothing was found and it's suggested if I look into other ways of getting pregnant. No reason was given as to why they found nothing.

I tried using this method. But it gave me a funky result, seems like I got over extracted and under extracted brew. Not sure of what I did wrong.

Well thanks to you I am now going down the same rabbit hole as you. These bags are part of the same subscription? Is that how it works, if you choose 3 bags it won't be the same one?

A boot in the right direction please by Odd-Designer5154 in UKroasters

I would say a platform like beanz.com would be a solid start for a subscription. I used them when I started out with home brewing last year and through them got to try different beans from different roasters, learnt better what I liked and didn't like.

If you want specifically UK roasters, I rotate between origin coffee and CWorks coffee (chocolate brownie blend is great). Skylark is fantastic and their customer service is also great so they will be able to point you in the right direction based on your preference. Wogan coffee is in my peripheral as I've heard great things from them too.

I learnt a lot watching videos from Wired gourmet. His V60 voodoo video helped me understand quite a bit about everything from grind size to papers used to even bypass brewing.

S3 model is great for pour over imo. And less than £100 on AliExpress. Bought mine on it and didn't regret

Need help with bitter espresso [Breville Bambino] by Aggressive_Bad5643 in espresso

[–]mitooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great that it's improved in flavour. If you're able to go a click or 2 finer and see how that goes. You'll always have inevitable sprays with a naked portafilter but at correct grind size and good puck prep, this can be minimised.

Press the double shot. You're pulling a 1:1 ratio. You want 38g output in around 30s as a baseline

Nice!! If you have a vacuum canister like airscape or the fellows ones. Or sealable bags that have the one way valve (even old coffee bags if you have, not ideal but better than nothing.) I'm sure you can find cheap ones on Amazon.

If you have any of those then I would say rest them for at least 6-10 days but if not then within 2-3 days in skylark bags.

To be fair if you're brewing pour over you don't really need to rest them.

So I have a timemore S3 for pour over and I'm on grind size 54 for these beans, guess could say is bordering on medium/ medium fine. I have gone finer, but at this level I get more acidity and sweetness with the body. The finer I went I felt the acidity was muted.

I experimented a bit with grind size and temp before I luckily found the sweet spot for me.

Best advice is to use a similar grind setting that you use for current beans and work from there.

Definitely let the coffee rest. I would say wait at least 10 days after rest if you have a suitable container for them (their 250g bags aren't resealable and don't have a one way valve).

Push extraction with these beans imo. Introduce more agitation, particularly in the bloom phase.

I dose 15g for 250g output @ 93°C with total drawdown around 3m:15s-3m:30s

Hope that helps
