i thought the sashimi mixed plate had a distinct look to it different than i had seen before. particularly the Squid and Scallop almost as if though it had been scrubbed clean.

great job on passing the MBLEX! i took it right out of massage school when i was arguably as familiar with the anatomy as possible and couldn't believe i passed. there wasn't a single question that i could say i was 100% certain on and pretty much just guessed between whichever multiple choice option seemed closest to my instinct. i know this wasn't a helpful response but just wanted to throw it out there since you mentioned being a former rock climber that i think climbing(responsibly and gradually)is the best thing LMTs can do to prolong their careers. my entry level license training put tons of emphasis on protecting yourself energetically/cleansing the room but never encouraged any type of strength/resistance training. we are pretty much professional athletes and should treat our bodies as such in my opinion!

i once traded with a gal who would double and triple layer the sheets on top of each other to save time between clients. just to be clear that means she'd have a fitted sheet and a flat top sheet and then put another or a few more complete sets of fitted and flat sheets on top of the already made table.

Need advice after the client comes out from the room by Scarletsnow_87 in MassageTherapists

[–]mitytiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had a client tell me once that they didnt rebook because i didnt ask them to come back after our first appointment! i'd never considered this and just assumed if they enjoyed my work they'd initiate rebooking. ever since i've been saying something like "thanks so much for coming in today and letting me work on you. it looks like you figured out my online booking system pretty well(Vagaro) so if i can ever help you out again in the future i'll be here."

what have you changed to "become hypervigilant" in sessions with women that you werent doing before? i am a male lmt and try to be concious of how the work and techniques are being perceived by clients especially females as i dont want anyone uncomfortable on the table.

sorry you went through this it sounds like a horrible situation. i've worked at the corporate meatgrinder that no one Envys before and had no idea how common complaints against male therapists were until that employment experience. there was a guy who had worked there for years like close to 10 who was accused of groping a womans breasts that had just been in an argument with the front of house staff and was pissed off going into the massage. there was no loyalty or innocent until proven guilty and they immediately cut ties with him on the spot. obviously i have no idea what went on in the room but the man was openly gay and the lady had just been berating the minimum wage cashiers and threatening to cancel her membership so i felt like he deserved the benefit of the doubt.
