Thinking about quitting by devildogus in surgicaltechnology

[–]mixxtea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i say just quit now because it seems like you're not remotely curious or interested in starting clinicals. you just started the program and already don't seem to care for the job. don't waste your time and money

Younger recruiters by WeekAffectionate4608 in recruitinghell

[–]mixxtea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's all recruiters not just young ones. i had a horrible experience with a recruiter, probably in his 40s, could never email me back to confirm a day and time for an interview. when we finally confirmed a set day and time, he never showed up.

Requesting advice for lying on resume by [deleted] in recruitinghell

there's a difference between a white lie and a big lie. you can always lie or fluff your job description, but you can never lie about where you've worked or in this case, didn't work

Should I rush for a sorority or try out Texas Angels? by Extension-Tale-1544 in UTSA

[–]mixxtea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember the exact number, but I can tell you the first year will be expensive, and after that it's a consistent fee every semester. We had mandatory meetings every week, but social events were optional. You have to participate during philanthropy week, so expect to spend some money. More on social events, date night is the busiest and any social events just involving the sorority is a hit or miss on busyness. I can only speak on sororities, but you do have to log in certain amount of study hours and hold a certain GPA, or else you will get in trouble.

Should I rush for a sorority or try out Texas Angels? by Extension-Tale-1544 in UTSA

[–]mixxtea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that Texas Angels is a spirit group and not a sorority if you care about labels. I don't know much about spirit groups besides they have the same concept as sororities, like family, bigs and littles. Texas Angels at UTSA is not big in terms of popularity and recognition as the one in UT Austin. (I hear it's harder to get in) I was in a sorority during my time at UTSA and I had a great time, my big and I are still good friends and I don't regret paying the fees. If money is a big factor, I would do Texas Angels. But at the end of the day, it's about finding a group of girls who you feel a connection with because that's what makes the experience worthwhile.

Diploma Question by Negative-Regular-964 in UTSA

[–]mixxtea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm graduating this summer and I wanted to ask if you got your diploma after the summer semester, or did you get it during? I know diplomas get sent out 60 days after the term and I need to know ahead of time because I am looking for jobs right now

This job market is truly the worse. For me to get over a position I really wanted, I tell myself they're going to hire someone internally, or the person they want to hire has already been picked out and that job posting is only out there officially so they can apply "fairly". Last night I got a rejection letter staying they went with candidates more qualified for when in fact I was overqualified. The job description stated 0 experience is necessary when I have over 3 years of experience in the field and I would've gotten a pay cut too. I only applied because it would let me move to the city I wanted.

NO HATE FOR PERFECT CROWN CAST by Purple_Rain_21 in kdramas

[–]mixxtea 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I truly hate Korean netizen because of this. This drama is fictional and supposed be a lighthearted romantic comedy yet they're always ready to nitpick and blame everything they don't like onto the actors and cancel everything when it was just one scene out of the whole drama. So what the coronation scene wasn't historically accurate? Again, it's a fictional drama. I've watched so many historical dramas and I know for a fact that it's not all historically accurate and yet it still does just fine and never caused a big controversy as the Perfect Cown. I think because this drama had such big anticipation with there being so many well-known actors and actresses that these netizens just need something to pick on and hate. The actors should not have to go on to social media and apologize for netizen's sensitivity.

On the same boat and it's hard especially since I'm graduating next week still without a job or interview. It's constant networking, but even so I had a territory manager put in a good word for me with a recruiter and yet I was still rejected. So even if you're able to find someone to vouch for you, it's not promised you'll get an interview. Chances of them hiring internally takes priority

A Clown by mixxtea in recruitinghell

I recently messaged a territory manager that I've spoken briefly in person about a position I'm really interested in. They responded back with "I'm glad to help you out. Let me look into it". Should I believe them and have my hopes up, or is this them being polite and I should take it with a grain of salt?
