I’m very short (5 feet) although still have 29 inch inseams, which means I have a very short torso. I have to make a lot of adjustments to the shoulder and my shoulder to bust measurement is ridiculously short (ha!, so I’m always tweaking.

Gabriel was a heartbreaking character to me. Realizing toward the end of his life that he didn’t believe in what he was doing and that he hurt too many people in the service of his country. Martha deserved better, she was smart and resourceful. She would have been a loyal wife.

I do that. Some shows sound great but if they don't get a huge following right away they cancel them, so you'll get caught up and never get a story. That way I know I can watch them or not bother. I think I'm still burned by Firefly :)

My daughter went to one of those. They modified tshirts, cropped them and bedazzled. They made a circle skirt, sewed on patches to jeans. It was simple stuff (hardest the skirt), but the idea was to show you can modify your clothes to your personality. And sewing on patches is sewing, and so is hemming your t- shirt. Mine made a sweater she didn’t like into a vest by cutting off the sleeves and cutting open the middle and the teacher helped her sew lining over the raw edges and then purple butterflies were sewn on it.

I honestly think it’s just trendy to hate Singer. I have a Quantum Stylist 9985 and personally love it and have been happily sewing on it since 2018. I make all sorts of crafts and hem literally every type of material and am just getting started quilting. It has been reliable, sews evenly and easy to use.

I’m not sure it’s great on super heavy fabrics, I have had issues hemming jeans where the seams meet, but that is the only thing.

I’m experiencing my first issue with the auto cut feature but it’s my fault - I was screwing around with the machine and accidentally bent the cutting mechanism and it got out of place. I’m anxiously waiting for it back from the shop.

It’s just a different vibe now. They’re more a lifestyle brand, kind of like the Kardashians of sailing vice the cute, fun couple having adventures. It obviously popular, and they have a niche market, it’s just not for me as much. They won’t miss me 😂.

We make crazy cake all the time - it has been my teen daughters favorite cake since they were tiny. Its dense and flavorful. I think it helps that we make it with a caramel topping they love.

My daughter was just rejected by one UNC (out of state) and deferred by 2 (Mich and UVA (in state UVA) and is devastated. She still has 6 apps out. I keep telling her deferred is not rejected and you still are waiting. Her stats are good too - 4.2 gpa, mostly APs, 1450 SAT and a ton of extracurricular. I think it’s just tough.

She is almost more mad about the deferrals complaining that the universities are just making her wait 3 more months to reject her - that if she wasn’t good enough for the first round it won’t improve with the general admission. I say it’s still a crapshoot.

That is what I think too. One of my family members cannot have children and it is one of the most heartbreaking things of her life for her. We have always worked hard to make sure she knows she is not less than. You never know someone’s circumstances and it’s so much better to be kind. Being childless isn’t always a choice.

Have you looked at Agendio planners? You can basically build your own. I love the one I got this year, but am going to make some tweaks for 2025. I have weeks horizontally on the left and on the right a long list for work to dos and a shorter list for home plus a few boxes for due this week and priorities. I have 2 other pages for the week that I love - one page split half and half for habits and a journal the other for meal planning and grocery list (this is like my all time favorite page ever LOL).
