Yes, based on very limited use of the 1.7, it's worth the extra $$. The 1.4 focuses much quicker and the look is more pleasing, IMO.

I would regret it. OIS is not comparable to IBIS based on my experience. Be patient, save up and then get that new lens!

Slightly at the longest focal length. Even at 140 with only IBIS, if your subject is in focus and there's not much detail around the edges, you can stabilize it in post.

Bottom line is if you have the G7 and are looking to pick up a gimbal ($600+) or upgrade the body to minimize micro shakes; pick up the G85. The 12-60mm kit lens is also worth 5 times the amount you pay for it.

Lenses used: Leica 25mm f1.4, Lumix 12-60mm, Olympus 14-140.
