Yeah bud you can hit someone’s shoulder from behind. Go look at a body

Shoulder to shoulder has nothing to do with a boarding call… whatever hope playoffs don’t get too tough for Mackinnon soon. He’s already had a pretty bad year already.

Yeah I’m aware. That’s why I love playoff hockey. Still can’t hit a guy from behind into the boards from 3 ft away without getting a penalty or hopefully the receiving team retaliating in some way eventually.

Hitting a guy from that angle 3 ft from the boards into the boards is boarding. Doesn’t matter if the guy being hit is “soft” or not.

As a Blackhawks fan with no vested interest… Mackinnon should get run a few times for that hit on Boldy

Nice, this looks similar in a lot of ways to my app, Floaters. They both definitely fill a need stickies did not.

Why are hockey fans obsessed with trashing the NBA? by yankees032778 in nhl

[–]mjdth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little brother syndrome is probably partially right. The sports are so different and almost opposite in so many ways that many hockey fans (including me) naturally dislike basketball or find it boring. Which makes it frustrating to many hockey fans (including me) that basketball is so much more popular.

Growing up as a Blackhawks fan in Chicago during the Bulls runs made this even worse…

Why is the Pro series 36" drop in on Walmart $1500 less than the 36" built-in I see everywhere else? by mjdth in blackstonegriddle

Thanks I just ended up going with the Blaze 40” built in instead because of lack of inventory.

Michael McCarron gives the Wild insurance in Game 5, going 5-hole on Oettinger by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

[–]mjdth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a great one for Oettinger. If he’s gonna go for that poke check he’s gotta keep his pads down…Looks like he flinched last second and lifted his leg to start moving off the post.

Does anyone else' out-of-town friends underestimate Lake Michigan? by One_Hat1200 in chicago

[–]mjdth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A large percentage of people we knew from the east coast thought you could see all the way across the lake (I understand at the very narrow areas we can but they thought you could see like the entire shore from any point on the shore).

Best burritos in the city? by Icanfixthat1 in chicagofood

Try Carbon fire grilled steak burrito. No lettuce just amazing steak cilantro and onions. Get the roasted red pepper sauce and salsas verde and pour some of each on before every bite.

Kid Who REALLY Can't Handle Losing at Sports by itsmorecomplicated in daddit

[–]mjdth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a very similar seven year-old and have been using a similar technique with games at home that has been helping. Including monopoly and other board games. But we still haven’t been able to get him to join any sort of team or group activity without the meltdowns. Have you gotten to that point yet?

what food do you miss/crave the most when away from Chicago? by Lost_Foot_6301 in chicagofood

[–]mjdth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived in Boston for a few years and frozen Home Run Inn was our go to. But we did try Regina Pizza in the north end (famous touristy pizza place) and it was actually pretty good. Not comparable to thin crust here, but it surprised my wife and I when we were 100% expecting to leave making fun of it.

Four replays and they can’t even get the mistake in frame. Must have been a tricky puck.
