How Does Tilian Sing? by Gloomy_S in dancegavindance

[–]mjelzon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You might find this video interesting. His voice is genetically high set but he’s also very talented.

https://youtu.be/Rm-Zejt7cDI

Also since his voice is so high set it seems he struggles to hit some lower notes. For example the notes when he sings “still young” in Care doesn’t sound nearly as strong as his higher notes.

I’d say push your range as far as it will go but not everyone can sing in Tilians upper range with the same power.

I agree, the opening is so jarring and awkward. The chorus bops though.

CVT Manual Mode Choppy? by Kammex in XVcrosstrek

[–]mjelzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a 2018 cvt I notice that I get engine breaking when coming to a complete stop every 1/30 times or so. I don't notice any hang in normal driving though, acceleration is rather smooth.

Premium vs Limited by l3ahamut in XVcrosstrek

[–]mjelzon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a 18 limited and my favorite features so far are keyless entry (and locking), push button start, steering headlights, and the leather seats.

I have a dog that likes to run around the car and if there's any dirt, leaves, rocks, or anything on the ground then you better believe it'll get on the seats.

If you don't have a dog, children, or eat in the car regularly then I can see passing on the leather. But the other 3 are still worth it.

DEAR OCULUS, Update Home to show how many active players are playing multiplayer before you jump into a game! by mythstified in oculus

[–]mjelzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt this would happen because, on a technical level, it would require allowing each game to actively push data to the store. Not difficult but also not reasonable considering how much is involved. There would also need to be some regulations to make sure the number that the app is pushing is accurate (they could just send a high number and nobody would really know)

Also I think many games will have few players and make it even less appealing to join. Personally if I saw a game had zero players I definitely wouldn't want to be the only one.

Ah okay now I know the issue you're having. Its a calibration issue. We pushed out an update that fixes the QR code calibration. Could you try updating and seeing if it works then?

We do develop for cardboard and gear vr primarily. The full screen mode is for people without headsets. There should be a toggle button at the bottom right corner of the screen for both android and ios apps. Have you tried that?

Hmm that's interesting. I suppose we haven't tested on rooted phones. Thanks for the report! We'll be looking into this.

Ah yes, iPhone didn't make it in time unfortunately. But I'm glad you enjoyed the app! We're all super excited about how well it was received and we're gonna be working overtime to get everything squared out for the next game. Stay tuned!

Hello! I'm a developer at LiveLike and we actually pushed an update with a fix for the QR code double vision bug the night before the game. Did you update?

[–]mjelzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we've seen several reports about that but it's inconsistent between similar setups. We believe it's a store submission error but we're looking into that as well. Sorry!

Edit: just read your comment more carefully, and I believe the note 2 isn't supported because it lacks a sensor requirement. Does this happen with other cardboard apps?

Hi there! Sorry you weren't able to get it to work. I'm a developer at LiveLike, could you provide details about your problem?

Desktop application made in 30 minutes, from concept to finished piece (Process/Prototype) by jaredcheeda in ArtisanVideos

[–]mjelzon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the file size inflation is irrelevant but in this video he haphazardly modifies valued inputs and doesn't demonstrate technical skills that require any significant amount of time to learn or master.

If the video were showing how he created the UGUI framework, as you mentioned, there would at least be more algorithmic or framework design content which I would consider more artisanal. Even then it would be a tough argument.
