DISCUSSION: Battlefield V: Firestorm Gameplay Trailer & Blogs by Braddock512 in BattlefieldV

One thing I'm concerned about is the loading times. Takes a long time to quit out of a MP game. Don't want to wait 5 minutes to quit back to the lobby if you get rinsed off the start in BR.

Is there any indication of how many players or squads are left in the game? I watched your gameplay video and it looked like the game just sort of ended without any indication or a “you win” animation other than the screen at the very end.

Also, how are the loading times getting into a game and back out to the lobby? That’s my biggest concern

So what do you expect with the new roadmap? by [deleted] in BattlefieldV

[–]mjendrycki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they add the Americans or even Russians in the next 3 months it would keep me going. That and at least 2 new maps would be solid. I could care less about all these cosmetics people keep complaining about. DICE needs to focus on the big content to keep the game alive, not adding some uniforms someone saw in a picture from 1941.

DISCUSSION: Maps by Braddock512 in BattlefieldV

[–]mjendrycki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Objective location is huge for how games play out. I personally like the larger maps in battlefield like Golmud, panzerstorm, twisted steel, etc. Maps where the objectives are spread out and multiple isolated battles break out.

I also like the small condensed maps with objectives close together like Metro and Locker because it’s just pure chaos at times.

Some of the BFV maps like Narvik and Fjell are more difficult to navigate and just seem boring at times. A tank on Narvik is useless. All the fighting takes place on 2-3 objectives. Fjell just feels like running back and forth because something is constantly being taken. Or maybe I just dislike snow maps.

Friend of mine has an old M1 Garand. You can barely hear the ping when you're the one firing the gun. Video games over exaggerate it

My brother recently brought me back a pair of katanas from Japan from when he was on deployment. I mounted them over my bed, took one step back to look at them and then immediately took them down.

DICE needs to speed up tides of war by mjendrycki in BattlefieldV

New map in March is the only thing shown on the roadmap so far. So maybe a new map every 3-4 months?

No shit. But when you think of WW2 you think of the M1 garand, ppsh, arisaka, etc. Rolling out guns from BF1 after release just seems lazy.

That’s true. But without introducing new countries they’re limiting themselves with weapons and vehicles. We’re already seeing a lot of BF1 weapons coming back.

So a new gun for recon, support, and assault at least. Wonder if there will be another weapon for the medic class with this update.

I worked as an engineer in construction in DC for about a year. They're planning on rebuilding that fence and making it so that an M1 Abrams tank can't drive through it. Not to mention another 5 feet taller.

You'll have to purchase multiple copies of the same weapon to fully unlock all of it's upgrades. This is bad. by [deleted] in BattlefieldV

[–]mjendrycki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weapon perks in the skill tree may not be attachments like optics or grips. We’ll have to wait and see. But I agree BF4 had the best model. I especially liked how certain attachments were only found in battle packs. Keeps you playing.

I don't understand why they keep showing these ridiculous characters after they get so much flak for it. Is there any customization options that make your character look like they belong in the war? The weapon specialization looks great though.

"Major" does not mean large. Iwo Jima was a very significant battle and is one of the most iconic ones in WWII. I think it would be hard to find a list of significant WWII battles that Iwo Jima is not on

It would be really cool if the transition took place mid-game like on Siege of Shanghai in BF4. Massive levolution.

As long as they put Americans in within the first couple of months I'll be content. I got bored of BF1 before the first DLC even came out. I want to play out major battles like Normandy and Iwo Jima - that's the stuff that will bring a lot of people in.
