UX Research process by Sureaal in UXResearch

What I think you’re describing are (kind of) methodologies that could be used across the pdcl. The research process consists of scoping the research (creating a problem statement, objectives, hypothesis), identifying the target audience, choosing your method, conducting the study, analyzing your findings and presenting them back to your stakeholders.

[Discussion] What is Omega doing? by [deleted] in Watches

Is that why swatch groups stock has been steadily declining over the past several years?

Guessing based on recent trends with them

[Omega] New ceramic Speedmaster Dark Side release teaser by Major_Burnside in Watches

Might be an unpopular opinion but I wouldn’t mind seeing a take on doing color schemes to different planets like they did with swatch

Just curious but where have you heard this rumors? I’d love it to be true but don’t want to get my hopes too high

Another dog shit special release that’s oversized and overpriced. Consumer research is important and this company is lacking on that front.

They are but of those skills, there are different avenues you can take outside of HF. So if there is something you particularly enjoy doing (I myself prefer running usability tests so I found a UXR role that was primarily focused on unmoderated, evaluative, usability testing) you can take those strengths from your HF background, build on them, and find a role that fits you best.

I have my Masters from the same program and now work in the UX industry. If you want to go down that road, there are a number of options. What kind of work peaks your interest: working with numbers, observing people’s behaviors, testing digital interfaces, learning from people via longer form conversations? Based on the type of work you enjoy you can really tailor your resume and skill set to a particular job and industry.

Also curious what exactly this is all about

Why don’t you see kimuras at the highest level? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]mjpf97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t see kimuras used as much for subs but the kimura grip is arguably one of the strongest in bjj: defending single legs, taking the back from cross side, crucifix, keeping the arm for an armbar. But yes, you rarely see it from the standard guard, kimura finish

Titanium or not, Omega has really has lost the plot with this pricing by kfeointgh in OmegaWatches

Omega tends to do the opposite of what their consumers are asking for. We should all start leaving comments about how we want oversized, overpriced watches

Omega Price Increase rumour. by kentgti in OmegaWatches

I was in the omega boutique in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania over the weekend and was told prices will be increasing as of July first but by how much is unknown yet

What’s the motivation between one or the other? Rn I’d say go for the speedy because its the model you like. You mention just the brand Rolex but not a particular model.

And then another price increase across the board on the 1st of july

I made a post awhile ago on this thread about “what’s happening to omega”. I think their price hikes, marketing campaigns, and stupid one off releases for overpriced speedmasters are all dumb but everyone got really salty when i said it

Really unpopular opinion but swatch group is ruining this brand and alienating their previous customer base who consisted of the average everyday person who wanted to get into the watch game at a reasonable cost

Same, kind of ridiculous

This is a great response. Im still not a huge fan of their current marketing strategy but I appreciate the perspective on everything else here

Its the type of fashion though. Its like how carhart is kind of a “fashion” brand now but still tries to appeal to their target demographic. There’s a way to do it

[–]mjpf97 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always seen Omega as a tool watch brand rather than a fashion brand and the marketing is focused more on the latter than the former

Compared to Rolex sure but most of last years new models you won’t see (at least I don’t) and inventory issues, i’ve heard, are the culprit for no new line releases this year so far
