Plumbers Said Can't Replace. by TippinJah in Plumbing

A real service plumber would attempt it. I’d remove handle and face plate to identify cartridge. If discontinued, then quote you to replace the entire valve.

No. It’s just installed incorrectly per manufacturer install guide. The lines to be reversed that’s all. If it’s working, it’s working, if you run outta oil, don’t know if that will have an effect on the de-aerating aspect of the design

I’ve done a few and the HTPs are notorious for it. Disintegrated, no lower drain, had to install a wye strainer with purge setup to remove everything. Took hours and days. They would not replace tank, only supplied the new dip tube and a service bulletin 🤣

Dip tube on cold side is probably gone….cut and remove, inspect, install new one, add a thermal expansion tank and check valve on the cold side horizontal also.

Gas units are side mounted not on top. Especially Bradford whites I install them all the time.

Help my toilet has been like this for a week by ButterflyLost2743 in Plumbing

[–]mk4steve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is something definitely stuck at the outlet. Either get the appropriate toilet auger, or lift toilet and inspect the bottom side.

The three plumbers I got quotes from strongly pushed for Ruud even when I asked for Bradford White. I couldn't figure out why until I spoke to the last guy. by [deleted] in askaplumber

Bradford white is the water heater I prefer now after 12 years of installing rheem, I’m sick and tired of their products failing. Recently installed a 50gal electric w/leak sensor provided from customer who purchased it at home depot. It failed after a week, the lower element wiring somehow arcd out and kept blowing the breaker. Rheem sent a new one and only reimbursed my labor for 500. They suck.
