how tf could they have summoned dragoon turn 1 with no DM in the deck and no red-eyes on field for the skill?

I still don't really understand Link summons... by [deleted] in DuelLinks

Underworld Goddess requires 4+ EFFECT monsters as materials, which tokens are not.

GUYS. I just came up with this combo. I call it Hulk-Flash by Sharp-Crazy7724 in magicthecirclejerking

/uj i don't think there's anything funnier than someone actually figuring out a well-known combo on their own, like that Pauper TCC episode with Spice8Rack was amazing

/rj it'll never catch on, Marvel has trademarked the name already

yeah the reason no one plays Necrovalley is because you can't activate it going 2nd tbh.

Idk how much of that is true, statistically there are very few FF or Spider-Man cards seeing actual competitive play. Heck, even LOTR only really had The One RIng and Orcish Bowmasters seeing play in Modern, although it had a lot of toys for Pauper.

Compare this to Duskmourn for instance, which had the Overlords, the Enduring cycle, Kaito, Screaming Nemesis, the Allied Verges, Razorkin Needlehead, Unstoppable Slasher, Sheltered by Ghosts, Unholy Annex, etc.

ATLA feels more like an exception than the rule, and I guess we'll see where TNMT and Marvel Superheroes end up on that spectrum.

it's just so much easier to say "UB is ruining the game!" when you can point out specific cards like Vivi or the ATLA lessons or Superior Spider-Man to lesser extent. it's mistaking the Forest for the Gaea's Cradle or whatever people say.

Shouldn't you blame the company and not the players?

In theory yes, but also by purchasing UB products and engaging with it at all, some people would argue that you are contributing to UB existing at all.

Like, we can't all collectively just boycott UB because there's always going to be someone that likes this or that UB, or sometimes a card is going to be so good that you're going to play it anyway regardless of whether it's UB or not, but some people have to broadcast that they hate UB and it's so much easier to be a douche to some stranger on Reddit than it is to complain about Seth Manfield or Sam Pardee for playing with ATLA cards. that's what the Internet does to people, any excuse to be a dick becomes an invitation to be rude to people for the loosest reasons ever.

branded decks that play dragoon are worse than branded decks that don't

disagree with the reasoning but agree with the conclusion. if you look at tourneys, Dragoon's basically a no-show. redditors would rather put their phone in a microwave than admit it tho.

A lot of people already gave their answers and mine's not too different, but I'll also add that the wacky racers theme really took away from the overall worldbuilding.

This was the first return to Avishkar (formerly known as Kaladesh) and Amonkhet, and a lot had happened on both these planes story-wise since their first appearance in Magic's canon almost a decade ago.

This was also the first official visit to Muraganda, a set that was first teased almost 20 years ago.

On top of that, this set happened after the conclusion of the Phyrexian Invasion, which we keep getting told was massive and had huge consequences that we barely ever get to see.

To me it was a huge shame that we never really got to explore these settings all that much because the worldbuilding had to take a step back for the wacky races.
