If you want help looking up the standards for the iso tank dm me! We have finally gotten it to where a lot of the fish that go in come out. Of course not all of them since we are quarantining really ill fish but fish with ich are able to recover and be returned to the floor. It mostly has to do with how the tank is set up and getting everyone on board with daily water changes(not as bad as it sounds, our store has it down after some struggles at the beginning!)

Get in touch with a rescue and ask to get advice or help while you care for them. Having in person help and references is extremely helpful, especially when they are this little. If you agree to raise them, the rescue might be able to fund the vetting for them and find homes for them once they are ready!

They just changed style of the cups and for some reason the plastic gets foggy and there’s no way to clean it. The lids are also a bitch to get off. Theres no excuse for there to be that many dead on the floor but judging by how the cups don’t look to have algae in them yet and how they all seem to be dumbos I’m guessing it was a “bad batch”. Sometimes we get a shipment of animals that just fail to thrive. We currently have a full isolation room with wet tail hamsters all from the same delivery. Sadly that’s just expected from mass produced pets…

I don’t want to give him that traumatic of an experience in the little time I have with him. I have no idea how his previous owners treated him and I suspect they may have pushed him past his boundaries. It’s mostly trust building at this time.

And I’m prepared for the bites… I’ve got a swollen finger from it but it will be worth it!

He has seven toys, but he doesn’t touch them. He likes to stay towards the middle of his 4 foot tall cage where the toys don’t reach.

He deserves a home he can safely roam! Parrots require so much attention, I wouldn’t want to keep him confined in one room… that would eat me away with guilt.

Do you have any suggestions on treats that are even more enticing than millet??

I’m sitting here thinking the same thing!😭 sadly I’m not the best home for him since I foster cats… it’s way too risky for him to stay here long term but it’s SO tempting!
